Justice Roberts is an Embarrassment

Reports are that he is trying to persuade another justice to back off their decision to overturn. Is it Epstein Island that has changed him? How can you even consider him conservative if he isn’t all about taking away the federal mandate on this? Isn’t it considered conservative to stop federal government from making laws like this?
I’m seriously confused on what is going on, if this is true.

The Court would lose more credibility if they walk that decision back

The court would literally be useless if they walk this back. Roberts is a pussy but he does care about one thing, and that’s the image and prestige of the court. I don’t believe this.

Isn't he the one that cast the deciding vote on Obama Care?

John Roberts is compromised.

Doesn't make sense. He could simply join the majority, assign himself the opinion, and narrowly rewrite it to allow the 15 week cutoff.
Kicks the can down the road but he can worry about other cases later.

If this is the case, then Roberts needs to go.
A Chief Justice who has no backbone has no place holding that position. I would just wait until 2025 to toss him.

I don't know much about the inner workings of judicial panels and all that crap but are other judges allowed to try to influence other judges or are decisions supposed to be reached individually?

He must be afraid that this decision might tear the Republic apart.

He thought the same thing about ObamaCare. All it did was make things worse when he flip flopped.

Reports from who?
Half assed gossip.
Or are you a janitor inside SCOTUS?

This.
It basically signals that the Court is not immune to public pressure, thus completely undermining its purpose.

But if Justices Alito, Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, Thomas and Barrett don't agree to limit their holding to just the 15-week cutoff, how can he write the majority opinion? Wouldn't they have to agree as well?

They are not deciding that....they deciding if Mississippi can decide that

He could write a concurring opinion if he can’t get the votes. I don’t see him getting them either if Alito is writing the opinion and CT is likely to vote with Alito. He would need Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and ACB to vote with him to assure a majority opinion.

They could write a concurrence.
But at a minimum Roberts could limit the reach on this case.
