My wife and I are looking to make a trip later this year and neither of us have flown Air Canada before. Is there anything in particular we might need to know? Like Southwest for instance you'd want to know about the unassigned seating, or Spirit with their alacarte pricing, etc.

From what I can gather they seem to be a pretty nice/reputable airline so not worried about the quality, jsut wanted to see if there was anything I should be aware of before we start booking!

They have Mounties instead of Air Marshals on the planes and all the cookies are maple flavored.

It's a perfectly normal, entirely average and forgettable airline

I remember as a kid seeing Air Canada L1011's parked at O'Hare and wishing we could try something other than American Airlines. Wondering where they go, along with the other occasional foreign jets.

30 years later I've been on dozens of airlines and they all are about the same at some point. It's a seat in a tube. There are some variations, IE Spirit and Breeze are ghetto, third world first class does not sell out (bonus seat next to you), Delta is better than AA or UAL, but after a while it's all the same anyway.

They only serve Labatt Blue beer, and every announcement over the intercom ends with "eh".

Just flew from New Dehli to Toronto last week...still have to wear masks, even if coming or going to countries that do not mandate.

But again, it is United with a funny accent.

You ever flown in a De Havilland turboprop? Cause Air Canada will get you where you want to go in one.
