If 8 beats 1 and 7 beats 2, how bad will that disrupt NBA media?

1. This would, obviously, make the playoffs complete madness and we would become the face of the playoff coverage, I imagine. Good for us.
2. For Pelican-specific media bias, what would this do to the Zion/Ja "debate"? Ja would lead an incredible failure while we have a historic upset...without Zion. I just want to see their heads explode trying the spin.

If that happens, the west will have-
Pels vs Mavs / Jazz
Warriors vs Wolves
They would be pushing the Warriors hard regardless of anything else but they would have to be praying that Luka and the Mavs make it to the western finals to have some “star power” rather than focus on making stars out of people stepping up.

Honestly don’t think it would be blown up as much as you expect since neither Phoenix or Memphis are media darling teams. I do think the narrative would start to shift though, from “suns blew this” to “pels stacked”

I don’t disagree, but it’s so counterintuitive to reality. If the pels advance, they’re by far the best story in the playoffs. For the neutrals and casuals, they want to root for the underdog.

3. Does it increase more reg season "resting" of stars b/c it's showing seeding is becoming irrelevant? And does the media continue to brush this under the rug?

Problem is that the media are fricking lazy and want to push existing narratives.
They also would rather be spending half a series in San Francisco than Dallas, Salt Lake, New Orleans, or Minny.

I really don’t think that’s true. Have you been to San Fran lately.

You don’t care about homeless people shitting in the streets if you are high off your tits on coke in a club out there.
It isn’t necessarily that SF is a great city as much as it is seen as a party town. Hence why the media love any major sporting event that brings them to SF, LA, NYC, Miami, etc. and they piss and moan excessively when it is held in a town that isn’t exciting like Jacksonville, FL.

Despite what you read on Twitter or Fox News, SF is still a world class city. Don't fool yourself.

They are going to have to reduce the games in the new CBA. Something like 70 with harsher penalties for resting and holding out.

Come on now, NOLA in MAY with a company expense account is bad in what way?

ESPECIALLY NBA media.
Probably the laziest of all sports media. Those frickers had MAYBE seen 2-3 Pels games before the Playoffs.

I think we are going to see two expansion franchises coupled with less games (72?), so there is less travel and way less back to backs (maybe none?).

Not bad but not on the level of going to SF or LA.
It ain’t the playground it used to be thanks to Covid but it is still quite a few notches above Salt Lake City or Minny.

Where would the new teams be?
Vegas is obvious but would Seattle get the second one or would another city?
Either way, two new teams in the west means that two of Minny, Memphis, and New Orleans slide over to the East.
That would have been very appealing even two years ago but it is decidedly less so at the moment.

It is going to be Vegas and Seattle, pretty much the worst kept secret in the NBA. Everyone knows it is happening. Everyone. Multiple reporters have said its happening.
Common misconception, do the math again my friend
One team would move East, one of us, Memphis or Minny
(A lot of people think it will be Minny do to geographical proximity to Bucks, Bulls etc)

Easy ... Vegas and Seattle if they expand teams.

I will rage.
These 9pm playoff games are killing me.

It’ll give some lesser known media folks chances to make themselves stand out by doing something new. I’m all for it.
