Why hasn't coach JJ played Brody Drost this year?

The kid showed a ton of upside last season. Is he hurt?

Had a really bad pre-season and got passed up by two freshman (Pearson and Stevenson).

I do hope JJ & gang can recruit, because the way he is playing this team, the transfer portal is going to need new pages come May.

He struck out almost every time in spring scrimmages. And, that's not an exaggeration, he only put the ball in play a few times. His fall wasn't great either. And he struck out both of his at bats this season.

I read he had some kind of back injury.

He had a hole in his bat

Drost will be transferring for sure. Has definitely gotten lost this season.

He’s injured and redshirting from what I hear

Hopefully he comes back strong. Weirdly he is scheduled for the Cape Cod league this summer. I think the Northwoods may be a better fit to make sure he gets the amount of reps he needs, provided he’s healthy by then.
He’s young for his class. Him redshirting can be a really good thing for him development-wise.

He seems like a Jay guy. Lefty with power, can't sniff lefties, average defensively, average arm.

I feel like you’re drifting more and more negative

Nah, I just like to stir the pot sometimes. You all should know this by now.

I say we take the bat out of his hands and see what he can do from the mound

Not all that surprising but I was surprised to see Leto pass him as a LH PH option

He was low 90s in high school pitching.

Bad take. Above average defensively with a plus arm. Feasts on fastballs. Needs to learn how to hit an offspeed pitch to left field.

He hasn’t been passed necessarily. He’s hurt and unable to play
