Report: Zion Williamson disagrees with Pelicans’ assessment that he’s not healthy enough to play
LINK
The Pelicans said Zion Williamson – who has missed the whole season with a foot injury – wouldn’t play in their first-round series against the Suns.
Williamson keeps throwing down highlight dunks where everyone can see them – on Instagram, during pre-play-in-game warmups.
In case you didn’t get his message…
Andrew Lopez of ESPN:
According to multiple sources, there’s currently a difference of opinion between the Pelicans and Williamson on whether he is healthy enough to play. The team maintains that the bone in Williamson’s foot hasn’t healed enough for him to take the floor.
Remember, Williamson reportedly thought he was ready to return sooner than the team did his rookie year. As much as the Pelicans cater to his wishes, they’ve drawn the line here.
Without seeing Williamson’s medical info and having the expertise to evaluate it, it’s impossible to say which side is right.
But if Williamson wanted to play sooner, he could have rehabbed more diligently.
Or he can keep not trusting the Pelicans then eventually leave New Orleans.
Maybe this disconnect, like other issues, will be solved with Williamson getting healthy. The Pelicans’ long-term approach might pay off. Given their obvious incentives to get their franchise player on the court as quickly as possible, they deserve some benefit of the doubt.
But there’s clearly a divide to be bridged.

Well there you go. All that bandwidth and time wasted when all that had to be printed was the above.

This is all based off the Lee Anderson interview where he himself stated its the doctors on both sides that have not cleared him.
It's not just the team doctors, it's Zion's doctors also.
Now can we please quit posting the same negative shite and Relish in what will be the 1st win of our playoff run to getting the ship this year?

At this time when this team has come back from 3-16, I don't give a rats arse what Zion's camp wants, or says. Take that noise back where ever your are and shut the hell up. This Pelican team from ownership to the water boy is first class. We do not need Zion taking away any spotlight that this team has accomplished. It's ridiculous that his stepfather at this time is pushing for Zion to get back to the court. This organization does not need the huge distraction of all that clutter. See you next year Zion, or maybe not. I'm tired of his handlers. Just play basketball, or get the hell out.

Zion is beloved by this fanbase. He can eliminate a huge portion of all this by just talking and sharing. It could be inspirational and educational to hear about his recovery. Let people in and show us what's going on. Stop hiding and talking through others.
I am sure it's a frustrating experience and exposing himself carries a large risk. Especially with how much he has been mocked. But it would do him a lot of good. I'd love to see him go on TNT. Charles and Shaq would fall over themselves showing him love and encouragement. I really wish he'd start a documentary following his recovery and getting into killer shape. Do it over the whole offseason.
So many missed opportunities in all of this..

If he doing crazy dunks in pre-game then he is already stressing his foot to the limits. I don’t see why he doesn’t come off the bench.

He should have ran the crescent city classic to prove them wrong

I tore the ligaments in my foot about 1.5 years ago. No, not a break, but it was a pretty bad tear for someone that’s 40. I rehabbed it myself and was running full speed again in 4 months. Zion is what, 21? Half my age. Dude should have been ready to go months ago. Something smells fishy and it’s not vagina.

tearing a ligament =/= break in the bone

He fractured a bone that doesn't get great blood flow and is notorious for difficult healing. Not comparable to your injury.

Breaking a bone is a lot better than tearing a ligament

Not when it is a bone that doesn't heal well. This is not complicated.

Why don't you look into Kevin Durant's & Joel Embiid's timeframe on recovery/setbacks for this same injury then come back & post in this thread.
