I'm still pissed off today.

Jordan Thompson and Hayden Travinksi lost that game for us last night. No one else.
Do we really not have a single god damn player who can field a ground ball and make a throw at SS?
Travinski dropped 7 catchable balls, and allowed 4 passed balls to move runners around. He sits on his fricking knee at catcher like a lazy POS. Thompson had a bad throw on that ground ball up the middle, and travinski could have made a catch and tag, and were out of the inning. instead he drops it.
Both players did nothing offensively to make up for it. Idk how I could be a coach, I would have to single those guys out after the game, which would kill team morale.
I'm sitting at my desk STILL pissed off from yesterday.
I do not expect to win this series anymore, that game had to set the standard.
LSU sports in 2020's have been depressing to follow.

I was giving Thompson the benefit of the doubt
Eventually I thought Thompson would get in the groove of things and stop making errors. he is pissing me off now that he can’t field ground balls and can’t throw to first.

Im not sure why the outrage. This is who this team is. We will have days like that where our fielding will lose it for us. Other times like last weekend, itll be decent enough for us to win

I seriously would have Travinski's eyes checked. If his vision is a touch off, that last 10 ft of depth perception is a bitch.
Dwayne Bowe had that problem and corrected it with Lasik.

I'd bump my thread where I mentioned that we won't win games that we should because of our SHITTY defense but I'm not that much of an a-hole.

I wasn’t pissed anymore then I read this post and thought about how it was all true and now I’m pissed again.
I think the most frustrating thing for me is that we have mostly the same players playing from last year. They just somehow got 10x worse defensively. I have no idea what changed or how to fix it but it’s incredible.

You answered it. This shouldn't be "who this team is". These same players weren't this bad last year. I've never seen anything close to this in over 25 years of watching baseball. This is what SWAC fans have to deal with. But this is LSU. How can you wonder why people are upset? I hope Jay Johnson doesn't feel the same way. "Hey guys, so, we just threw that game away, but it's ok. This is who we are now, and all I ask is that you keep being yourselves."

Genuinely mad too.
I had front row seats for the shite show at SS.
After the 1st inning my Arkansas buddy noted how easy it was to field a ground ball watching Battles.
I think an infant could have played better than Thompson.

They have no fear of being benched. Johnson has said multiple times. “Those are the guys who are going to play, they’re just going to have to play better” and when they don’t play better nothing happens.

If not one of our players on the bench is no better than Thompson, Then why are they even on the team? If they are all worse than Thompson, they shouldn't be on a major college team.

Our shortstop has also regressed, mightily. He wasn't great last year, but he was nowhere close to being this bad. Why did he get worse? All we know is that he has, and this entire defense has. I don't care who you want to blame for that. It shouldn't be happening, and that is why people are upset. I just can't fathom having the mindset that we should just blow it off, because "it is what it is".

Nah. He was bad last year. His fielding pctg has dropped but it wasn't good before. He had 15 errors last season.

This is kind of where I am. I’m still just kind of baffled wondering where Thompson forgot how to throw a baseball. I just don’t get it
