Anyone else NOT boiling crawfish until after Easter?

I've gotten so damn cheap in my older age. I just can't make myself pay the higher prices right now. 20 years ago, I wouldn't have even have cared what the price was per lb.
Once you add in the cost of all that goes into boiling 1 sack of crawfish, you're basically looking at a $250 snack.

We boiled 2 sacks last weekend. Total price w vegetables, sausage, & seasoning was right at $600.

We split it between us and another couple. It's just how we do boils. Next boil will be at someone else's house, and we won't have to pay anything.

I think it was around $3.50 a pound. Right at $300 with tax.
$30 propane
$200+ worth of lemons, onions, sausage, garlic, celery, red taters, seasoning, soft drinks, etc.

at 2.59/lb (Michaels and B&J seafood in Hammond for the last 3 weeks) your 35lb sack is 95
$30 seasoning for one sack???? What do you use?
I go with one large bag of LA boil ($4), one small bag of swamp fire ($2) and one bottle of liquid ($4) and a few mesh bags ($4)

I hear you but what makes you think the prices will drop to what we've become accustomed to post-Easter? Serious question: how much do you expect them to drop in price after Sunday?
This year Easter falls on one of the latest dates it can and the prices in my area (NOLA) haven't moved much in almost a month. We usually see a pretty good decline until Holy Week when they spike up again until after Easter. I suspect this year's post-Easter prices may be the same price as last year's lenten season prices.
Locally Winn Dixie and Rouses are pretty good barometers and both are selling for more than $1/lb than they were last year at this time. Winn Dixie started the season selling at the same price they are now (with an increase of .50 -.75 during the cold spell/Mardi Gras) and that was more than 2.5 mos. ago.
By this time in years past we would have had 2 crawfish boils and been invited to 3 or 4 more and this year there has been a grand total of 1 for a very special occasion.
The prices will still drop post-Easter but nowhere near what we are used to seeing unfortunately. I haven't been to any crawfish cook-offs this year and the one we're involved in always schedules after Easter for this reason but I doubt the same profit will be made since the price for admission didn't increase much (+$5) from past years and everything else has.

my cut off price is $1.99 boiled and i dont ever buy it any higher then that
im perfectly fine going years without boiled crawfish if need be, its a luxury item and something i dont have to have.

How much per LB did you pay and how big were the sacks? The only way I could see this being true is you paid around $6.50lbs for 2 40lbs sacks. That's $520 in crawfish, if that's the case you must be out of state and shipped them in at that price or was extremely high when you got bent over LOL!
