And I just realized the Cleveland Indians are now the Cleveland Guardians. I guess I have been living under a rock.

What? I’ve been living under the same rock, I guess. The Guardians? How does that relate to Cleveland?

I don't think that's it, I think they decided to keep it low key. Maybe they wanted to rid themselves of the stigma associated with the cartoonish portrayal of Native Americans but not virtue signal. I would have had no issue with them keeping the Indians name, personally, but I can see how some of what Cleveland did with the animations and such could be construed as offensive.

Of course I may have been living rock as well,

They are named after 4 large Art Deco statues on the bridge right outside the stadium called the guardians of traffic.

It’s not a terrible local name. They are very prominent.

They haven't used Chief Wahoo since 2018. But even before then, it was used very sparingly.

SHould have clarified I meant past things. I don't follow baseball like I did as a youngster and I do feel a bit sad that some of these mascots are departing.

The cardinals and orioles always seemed like wimpy mascots, now they seem like genius picks LOL.

At 2% of the season completed, I think they have a really good chance. It’s actually been a few years now since we’ve had a 162-0 MLB team.

I’m sure tens of Cleveland baseball and Washington football fans are relived that they changed the team name.

I once bought an Indians hat because I loved the Chief Wahoo logo when everyone else wore nothing but lame letters on their hat.

Triggered! There is man in human. That's misogynist. Humyn please.

Just kidding. They will always be the Indians to me along with the Redskins.

They were considering the Cleveland O.G.’s. Shoulda gone with that. The animations would have been lit.
