Making me a little itchy. Someone needs to start another Will Wade thread to liven this place up.

There's no lsu tradition like beating Mississippi state in any sport. Even our 1992 football team beat state

Yes, the schedule worked out pretty well this weekend with Tigers playing M St in Starkville.

Now to just wrap things up with a victory on Sunday to sweep the series.

Maybe. Miss State, like Florida is having an off season. Beating them isn't any great shakes. I want to see us beat Arky, and Ole Miss, and Tenn.

Also 1989 and 1994. Heck, even the 1999 team came within one botched call of upsetting a 7-0 Miss St team.

Florida just took 2/3 against Arky and Ole Miss is tied for last in the west with State. Bottom line: Winning a series against any conference opponent is a very good thing.

This is one of the craziest seasons I’ve seen. And Tennessee being 11-0 (29-1) is the cherry on top as far as crazy goes.

It must be fricking miserable to go through life being this much of a bitch.

Here’s the truth. Florida and State both have better pitching, especially starting pitching, than LSU. LSU has one of the most dangerous lineups in all of college baseball with, arguably, the two best hitters in college game batting back to back. If LSU can minimize defensive mistakes and walks, they win. The offense will burn any team at some point. We saw that Friday night.

This team CAN be a force. If the pitching staff continues to grow, especially the relief guys, they can absolutely make a run.

You totally get it! Unlike a lot of other people, who apparently have never watched/understood the game of baseball.

I guess in your world it would have been better if we got swept. WTF?

The overall pitching was stellar this weekend. Lots of guys getting outs and well handled from the coaching staff. It was really good to see imo.

I’m still pissed that the refs gave State that touchdown when they were short in 1999

I never understood how that was called a TD.

In retrospect, however that may have changed the course of LSU football for perpetuity. A win in Starkville could have reversed the Tigers' slide that season, and kept Dinardo in as head coach. Dinardo would only have produced more mediocrity; there would have been no Saban, and no renaissance of Tiger football.

Dinardo was still getting fired regardless.

I don’t give a shite.

Sweeping the defending national champions at their place is always a shot in the arm your program can use.

Back together again? I dont freak out when the ball doesn't bounce our way. I get what you're saying though it was a great weekend. JJ can coach. This is going to be fun.

Great to see Floyd come in and give us a quality inning with 3 up and 3 down!
