Yes I know I’m old! However lots of good things started with those seats!

The feminist lobby got rid of them to discourage road head.

Pickups have become luxury status symbols.

If you want a bench seat the base work truck in the back row may have one.

Bench seats in front and making the kids ride in the back under a metal camper shell.

Lariat ultimate plus bench seat here. You just have to order and wait a little bit longer. The only thing I had to give up was power running boards. Can’t have bench seat and power running boards. Dumb

I can remember when the vast majority of Chevy pickups were either Custom Deluxe or Scottsdales. The Silverado trim level was unusual and high end with things like power windows, carpet and AC.

Custom Deluxes were the absolute basic work truck. 4x4's were usually full time. And they didn't have fancy viscous clutches in them. They hopped when turning on pavement. And got about 7mpg with a 350.

They're not difficult to find at all. Basic work trucks today have bench seats and the comforts of top end trucks 20 years ago.

Modern work-trim trucks are really a screaming value relative to the rest of the vehicle lineups. Truck prices are not out of control. Consumer spending is out of control.

I had a 79 Blazer with bench seat. Loved that damn truck but it drank gas. you could floor it and actually watch the gas needle go down.

2000's Silverados had a console that flipped up and down on the middleseat to form a bench. It was called a something like a 3/4 or 2/1 bench.

It's called split-bench seats. They're in all the 1/2 and 3/4 ton pickup trucks.
