Doctor recommendation to prescribe TRT

I just turned 50 and I am trying to stay active and continue exercising but my body can't keep up. I have injuries like tendonitis that are just nagging and won't go away (going on over 1.5 years) no matter what I do (more than 6 months of PT) or how long I rest. My primary doctor's response has been to take Advil and stop doing things that hurt.
I had my testosterone checked a couple of years ago and it was 500 and I just had it tested this month and it is now in the 300s. My primary doctor says I still have normal levels and doesn't want to prescribe TRT.
Does anyone have a doctor in Baton Rouge that they would recommend I see? I would prefer it to be a doctor instead of one of these clinics so I can get a prescription and have my insurance cover it.
Thanks for the help.

Welcome newest TD member, this is an account with a mission
You are in normal range technically if in 300s and I do not think insurance will pay unless you drop under 300 or maybe if your free is low they could sneak you in.
You can go out of pocket probably, will need a T clinic willing to do it (which most will).
Once you start though, there is no going back.
lsu777 will have the best info for you probably, I think he uses a doctor out of Houston.

i use baylor medical in houston. but like you said...in the 300s he is going to be very limited on waht insurance will pay for or a doctor is going to prescribe.
he has 1 of three choices
1) use a sarm or steroid and crash your natural test even lower to get doctor prescribed trt
2) go to a low t clinic
3) go black market(most economical even with insurance) and just pay for bloods or get it through you General Prac doctor.
but like you said, there is no going back once you go on. personally i think he should prolly clean up his diet to optimize Test, take a couple test boosters and boron to try and get his test levels more optimized without going on trt.
but he sounds like a guy on a mission so up to him.

Thanks for all of the responses. I am on a mission but it's not just to haver TRT. It's to get my body to heal and back to normal. I have tried everything but I can't get these nagging injuries to go away and so I was told this would help.
What are these test boosters that you refer to? I have heard of Tongkat Ali and Turkesterone but I wasn't sure of what to do after hearing about issues with bad brands and suspect dosages and levels. So that was another reason I was going to go the doctor route since the alternative is muddy and the internet is not to be trusted. Which is ironic as here I am on the internet looking to trust it

came here to provide my 2 cents, but 777 pretty much got everything. listen to him.
think before you do it. it is a commitment.

first off what are you trying to heal? what nagging injuries?
2nd how is your diet? are you tracking macros to the T?
3rd...what is your workout regiment?
if you want to just try and get your test levels higher and free test levels higher i would suggest the following
- sns optimize T- 4 caps/day
- bodybuilding.com test booster- 3 caps/day
do for 60 days and then have your levels checked again.
the above is only advice though purely for getting your test levels up using supplements, not to heal you.
or the sns optimize t with iconic formulations sustain T

My biggest problem is tendonitis. It started out as golfer's elbow in my right arm and then tennis elbow in the left and then golf in the left and now tennis in the right. I have done PT, various exercises that are supposed to help, movement modification, and inactivity for rest. All to limited help and improvement but it still persists. I understand testosterone is necessary for injury and small tissue repair so that is what I am looking at for my next step.
I'm not very up on nutrition but I think my diet isn't bad. I'm not sure what you mean by tracking macros. I am very lean with little body fat. All of my blood work came back very healthy with all results in good ranges. Aside for the tendonitis, I feel like and look to everyone like I am in my 30s instead of 50.
I generally exercise about 3 to 5 times a week, strength, endurance, and cardio. Mostly body weight, some kettle bell and dumb bell, swimming, full body exercises and treadmill. No heavy or power lifting. Just trying to stay lean, active, and healthy, not bodybuilding.

Any negatives from trying this out and seeing how I feel? My levels are fine 691/20 Free so wouldn't want to screw anything up

Try turmeric.I was plagued with lateral and medial retinaculum pain in my knees for years. It would be in one knee for awhile then switch to other knee.Never both knees at once.It wasn’t debilitating, just annoying.I took Aleve twice a day, helped a good bit. Also my back hurt every morning when I got up,usually first thing I did was take 2 Excedrin for that.
I started taking turmeric with bioperin. After a few weeks knees and back quit hurting, haven’t taken Aleve in probably a year and Excedrin only a few times for headache. It was amazing to me how much the turmeric helped.
I was glad to quit the Aleve.

I tried tumeric for a month and no change. I feel like I have tried everything. It's never been so bad that I had to take pain relievers. Just a background ache and sometimes stabbing pain if I put my arm in certain positions, especially with a load.

for the record, trt isnt really going to help that. maybe a hair, but not much.
you need to identify what you are doing that could be causeing it, maybe diet, maybe lack of sleep or deep sleep, maybe over training. lots of things it could be.
but trt is not going to really do anything.
if its something specific their are peptide treatments that work.

I tried a round of BPC-157 and it didn't help. It was in a pill format which may not work as well, don't know. I have no experience with self injections so I didn't go that route.

What was your free test level? That’s more important than total test. Although insurance will qualify/disqualify you by total test numbers alone. You can have high total test and very low free test making your symptomatic.
I use defy medical but I’ve heard
core medical is good as well.

Any alternates to that bb.com test. They out for. A while...

Lol I was looking at that today. He mentioned pairing the sns optimize with something from iconic formulations as well. But I checked it out and it's a topical that has a completely different ingredient makeup than the BB.com one so not sure what it's about. Sounded interesting though and I may test it out
