Zero. Sounds like her sister and 3 kids will become her primary caregivers. This happened in Honea Path, SC. There's a lot of really salt of the earth folks up that way, so I hope the community up there rallies around her family.

If that woman was armed... she'd still be armed.

Eradicate the breed. They should be shot or clubbed on sight.

Yes. What those retards don't understand is that even if Pit Bulls don't bite people any more than other dogs do, they are biologically stronger than other dogs and can kill a person once they latch on. And there is nothing anyone can do about it once they do because it happens so fast.

Other dogs can bite you and you can get them off or get them to stop without life-altering injuries or death.

The only thing worse than the breed is the low-functioning owners.

I love animals, but they are not attractive dogs. The only reason people usually have them is because of their dangerous reputation. Yes, I suppose they could provide great protection, but if they get out like they did in this case or turn on you, then you have serious problems.

I'm just saying what I usually hear people say when defending having pit bulls around kids. They say that pit bulls don't bite people any more than other dogs do. That's possible, but when they do, it's WAY more serious and leads to hospitalizations/death which I believe is what this chart is showing.

I use to be super anti pit, but I fostered a couple of them for an animal rescue and they were great dogs. You had to constantly put them in their place because they always test you. That's the issue -- terrible owners who shouldn't own a very aggressive breed

We have a half dachshund, half pit rescue dog.

Prey drive is through the roof.

I can’t say for certain that it’s just the breed but it sure seems that way.

I think these tragic attacks are a combination of a strong genetic prey drive by nature (and inbreeding) and poor behavior aggravated by bad owners.

I can’t imagine the pain that poor girl has experienced.
