It’s going to devastate our OL to lose Armstead

The Dolphins are reportedly offering him $20+ million a year and there’s no chance we can offer anything close. I figured our highest would be $17. I know a lot of people don’t care for him because of the injuries but he’s a legit superstar at his position and might be the best LT in football when he’s out there. Hoping he wants to stay here but it’s hard to turn that much more money down.

Ummm…. No. Dude is made of glass and can’t stay on the field anyway. We played a lot of games without him over the years.

When you’ve got James Hurst or god forbid Andrus Peat out there next year getting Winston killed you’ll think differently. We aren’t finding anyone near his level in the draft either.

I mean we only typically have him for about 6 games anyway so might as well just be the whole season. I’m willing to take our chances.

James Hurst has graded as a top 5 pass blocker over the last two seasons. We are fine with him and Ram manning the tackles

I'd still take OT's Raimann or Penning in the draft, even if the Saints do sign Armstead.
We will need somebody at OT to fill Terron's spot for half the year.

That’s a gamble I’m ok taking because just how elite he is both pass and run blocking. But we see things differently. I hope he somehow comes back but I think by tomorrow he’s in Miami. They have the most cap space in the league we are no match. The question becomes do you risk screwing with Ramcyzk and move him over to the left side or just hope for the best at LT.

Why not? We found Armstead in the 3rd round.
Not to mention James Hurst has been a stud pass blocker the last 2 years. He may shine given the role full time…

We’ve played without him for 38 games since he became a starter in 2014.

Tackles that run 4.65 40s aren't just "found" in the draft.
He's got an invaluable skill set that other LT just flat out do not possess. With Winston providing a legitimate deep threat, our running game should flourish - it takes a huge hit if we lose Armstead.

This draft has good mid round tackles and wide receivers.
Draft one in The first and use the extra 3rd to move up in the second to draft the other.
