CNBC - Intentional Act
quote:

The China Eastern Airlines plane crash that killed 132 people is believed to have been caused by an intentional act, according to U.S. officials who spoke to ABC News.

The Boeing 737-800 passenger jet was flying from Kunming to Guangzhou on March 21 when it plunged into a mountainous area in Guangxi, China. All 123 passengers and nine crew members were killed.

The officials who spoke to ABC News point to the plane's flaps not being engaged and landing gear not put down. The near-vertical descent of the plane, they believe, would've required intentional force.

Investigators also looked into one of the pilots' personal lives and background and believe he may have been struggling through certain issues right before the crash, ABC News has learned.

The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board said all information on the investigation will come from their counterparts in the Civil Aviation Administration of China, but regulators and Boeing have not flagged any mechanical issues. Sources said Chinese investigators also haven't flagged any mechanical issues.

China Eastern's flight No. 5735 had been traveling at around 30,000 feet when suddenly, just after 0620 GMT, the plane entered a deep dive at its cruising altitude speed of 455 knots (523 mph), according to data from flight-tracking website FlightRadar24.com. The data suggests the plane crashed within a minute and a half of whatever went wrong.

That would be a very terrifying minute and a half.

Footage of the crash site (from a distance) is already out there. Definitely a no survivors situation. It went into a dive from 29-30,000 feet.

Article says it wasn’t a Max, that those are still grounded in China. So wouldn’t be an issue with the MCAS since the older versions don’t have that.

Bad look for Boeing nonetheless.

I'm thinking pilot suicide.

Another infamous crash, Air France 427 I believe out of South America, had a situation of complete pilot error. The pilot kept pulling up and stalled the plane completely and jt still took a while to drop out the sky even though it was completely stalled.

Im not a plane expert or pilot either though.

There’s more than 1 pilot in board. I don’t understand how that could happen.

Germany had one happen I believe. The one pilot left to use the restroom or something and the other one locked him out. You can hear them banging on the door trying to get back in.

I know the chances of dying on a flight are astronomically low, but I really dislike flying out of fear of a crash.

I forget which one, but one of the times this happened, the pilot who wanted to crash the plane waited for the other to go to the bathroom, and locked himself in the cockpit alone.

If true, why do you feel the need to kill innocent people with you.
