Have y’all seen this? Blacked out screen with an end of game announcer going off in the background… some lady hits a game winner and the words across the screen read you never saw this because you don’t think female sports are worth watching…

All while not showing us the actually footage and putting a QR code at the base of the screen to scan if you want to watch it.

What moron thought that was a good idea to
Increase views of women’s hoops?

It is kind of a weird for Buick to complain about women's sports not getting enough media coverage while college swimming is getting more attention than ever because the NCAA let a man compete against women.

Plot twist: The clip isn't all that exciting so they had to hide it to bait engagements.

To be fair, the black screen and QR code are more attention grabbing than women's sports.

Finally a reasonable commercial regarding women’s sports

The funny part is how they always blame men for not watching women's sports instead of women. They'll say women are just as interested in sports yet can't even get them to watch women.

I saw that the other day, and while the execution was poor, the concept was even worse.

Why am I required to think that women's sports are worth watching? Do they really think we don't watch because they're women? Do these people know anything about men? We'll watch just about anything, if we think there's a chance we might see an attractive woman. But the product is so bad, that almost no one, including women, can hang with it. That's all there is to it. It's just bad.

They should be thankful that they have an opportunity to play sports as a career, when their leagues are hemorrhaging money. It doesn't work that way in men's sports. If you aren't drawing fan interest, your league folds. But women are always protected by some Title IX-esque mandate, or lawsuit(or threat of lawsuit). If women were truly treated "fairly", women's sports would barely exist.

But when it comes to the one thing that truly threatens the existence of female sports today, no one on the left has a word to say about it. That would be, of course, "transgenders" in sports. These cowardly "men" who can't beat other guys, will keep flooding into women's sports until it's nothing but "transgenders". And they won't even have to have any sex change surgeries done. Not in this age. Who are we kidding? If you tell a dude who "identifies" as a woman that he isn't a real woman, he'll sue you out of a job and out of a house.

Hate to break it to you but you just proved it worked.

In advertising you want people talking about it, good or bad. Cause any publicity is good publicity. So you coming to a forum to bring it up and get a discussion going just proved the commercial did its job. Doesn’t matter you are talking bad about it the point is you are talking about it. Cause if you are here talking about it, others are out there talking about it. So congrats on making it successful.

Anything that has to do with women or women in power people lose their minds on here. LOL. So insecure.

You missed his point, and the point of most of us in this thread, entirely. That commercial isn't about "discussion", and no one said anything here about discussion. The commercial is accusing us of not being interested in women's sports. An accusation that is 100% correct, and that no one owes them an apology for. And the fact that they made a commercial that shows nothing but a black screen is not going to increase interest in women's sports.

THAT is the point. The fact that we are here talking about how stupid the commercial is, has not increased the level of interest in watching women's sports. Your little "gotcha" attempt missed the mark pretty badly, friend.

The first version of this commercial was about a buzzer beater to knock off uconn women in the final four.

They make it seem like it wasn’t televised and people were unable to watch it, when in reality it was broadcast live on espn and anybody who cared enough could’ve easily seen it.

The typical Buick customer is 80+ years old. You are probably not in their target demographic.

To the people who think Buick is trying to shed its dinosaur/geriatric image, then why do they play polka music every commercial?
