And this team is pretty much the same team with no Marceaux. Only positive right now is it’s only the first series but the competition will continue to get better. Hopefully we find a way to win tomorrow.

Then why are the players committing so many errors?

I seen Little League teams play better in the field than us that is on the coach.

I agree that part makes no sense. You would think that’s fixable but every game it continues

I don’t think it’s fixable with the current lineup. We’re almost 20 games in and still making the same errors. They are what they are without changes.

LOL anyone who paid attention to Johnson at Arizona and earlier knew defense isn't high on his list. You can win big in WAC and PAC-12 with heavy hitters and average defense. That dog won't hunt in the SEC.

Lets face it, he got street cred because he's a Woody hire. Street cred doesn't get you shite in the SEC. We'll find out what Brian Kelly is made of as well right out the gate. The SEC does not suffer fools lightly.

Who's missing Pawl now?

Players at this level are dependent on coaching to avoid errors? Its not a skill they develop and retain?

We have players on the field that shouldn’t be and others that are playing out of position. If this needs to be explained to you then you may want to skip posting

I call it LUCKY as all hell. The pitching got us where we were last year even with the injures.

Yes we made a super regional but we also were 13-17 in the sec. In fact we were a bubble team after losing to Georgia in Hoover. Of course we can improve but it’s easy to forget we weren’t that good last year, we got hit in Oregon and won 4 straight.

Ii agree, Coach one. So far this season we’ve played 10 games and we’re averaging less than 3 errors per game.

8 year olds.

It appears the coaching staff may not have put the needed emphasis on defense.

Fielding to me is on the players… concentration and practice. Like defense in Basketball.

This team should be a little bit better hitting team than it has showed so far.

Pitching and pitching depth is bottom half of SEC

Agreed, and we also need to remember that D1 college baseball has been in a slump due to the covid BS. I'd say half the players on our team aren't good enough to play baseball at this level. You can look at how we perform against Div II and III schools, and you'll realize we are a solid Div. II team. Life is back to normal, for now, give the coaches time to fix the problems, and that's going to take 2 seasons at least.

They played one good weekend for the regional. That team wasn't very good all year and got destroyed at Tennessee

So far the biggest surprise in fielding and I think a big part of that is our 3rd baseman. Get Doughty over to 3rd and Berry at DH like everyone said after The Shriners. Pitching was going to be a weakness for this team. Hitting has not been as advertised with this group but would have been good enough last night if we could pitch and field. JJ needs to make the lineup changes today and keep Cooper in the pen. He hasn’t managed things well to this point imo.
