Basketball will pay a fine, get restricted on recruiting visits and trips and maybe a 1 year post season ban.

Whatever the basketball sanctions are, and they are likely to be significant, the problem is that LSU basketball will lose current recruits to decommitment and some current players to the portal.

Simply having the unknown sanctions hanging over the program's head will wreak havoc. The sooner the punishment is announced, the sooner the road to recovery takes place. Until then, it will be a bumpy ride.

As far as football goes, the NCAA should, and likely will, take into consideration the self-imposed penalties. The problem here, however, is that LSU was unsuccessful in getting the two programs severed and thus both have been proclaimed guilty of loss of institutional control. It would not be surprising, therefore, to see an additional one year bowl ban especially since the self-imposed one year ban came in the midst of a losing season during the Covid year.

LSU took a bowl ban in a year they would have made a bowl. They aren’t getting another year bowl ban. Most likely if anything is added it would be a fine. But not much else.

I’m mostly worried about how long it will take the NCAA to hand out the sanctions. Kansas is still waiting after 2 years.

How long are we going to be in limbo? How can you hire a coach and build a roster without knowing the future?

If basketball is stripped of the ability to issue scholarships, it doesn’t need a post season ban.

We already took action on the OBJ thing. He was banned from campus and LSU events and the players gave the money back. Not much else you can do about that one.

Considering all parties involved for Football are long gone. I think they accept the bowl ban from 2020 and the previous reduction of scholarships. Basketball??? Not gonna be good!

Wade was taken out to save face and get football out of the crosshairs. The basketball shite all seems heinous but in reality it’s done everywhere. The dirty laundry never gets aired.

There’s always a smoking gun in these cases. Someone talks who wants retribution in some manner. SMU got taken down by a disgruntled player who felt he wasn’t getting what he deserved. USC was taken down because of the guy Lake wanting to out Reggie Bush for screwing him over. On the flip side, cam Newton skated because there was no smoking gun thar cam “knew about it”

The ncaa is not a legal entity that can imprison people. And realistically they probably couldn’t have proven anything in lsu if investigated. It’s all he said she said, until the ex gf and the texts Wade held onto as evidence of blackmail. Smarts family never gave up any info. The Cisse stuff was a setup

So LSU football did nothing... Some former player did. Not worried.
