The run a big risk of finding out.
It's like someone made a Xerox copy of the Ukraine playbook that has worked out so well.
This administration seems to have no "old hand" diplomats that understand how to keep things from getting out of hand.

Both men also stopped short of saying Finland would seek to join NATO or become a major non-NATO ally of the United States, a designation granting enhanced security cooperation.
Yet during an hour-and-a-half long White House meeting, Biden called Finland a "strong defense partner" helping a "united trans-Atlantic response to holding Russia accountable."
Russia does not want Finland or Sweden to join NATO and just a week ago Moscow made its latest warning to them of "serious military-political consequences" if they did. Niinisto has maintained that Finland, a European Union member, has a right to seek NATO membership but tamped down talk of doing so in the midst of a crisis.

Ukraine has been giving Russia all they can handle. Finland has a much much better military and easier terrain to defend. Russia should be more scared of Finland at this point than the other way around.

Finland isn’t the strategic threat Ukraine is.
Russia can afford a NATO Finland, not so much with Ukraine. Not saying they’ll let that happen, but they could.

Russia’s military is much larger than Finland. Finland also has ZERO nuclear weapons.
Just as in Ukraine the Russians would smoke Finland given time.

I like a good sniper story too, but the days of taking a shot, the skiing away are over. Russia has drones with thermal imaging. He'd be caught or killed within 10 minutes of pulling the trigger.

Outside of pure Russian state/military dispatches, this ‘operation’ is almost universally criticized as shambolic.
The desertions, logistical problems and equipment failures are staggering.
“Progress” has utterly stalled everywhere. The last ‘positive’ Russian advance was March 3rd.
I almost hope I’m only reading propaganda. I’d hate to think the US has been spending trillions to defend against an army that can’t buy working tires.
