Kim Mulkey did an amazing job this year, but Staley has her team at #1. I can't stand her, but she did deserve it.

Staley would have thrown a Brandon fit if Mulkey had won...bottom line

Yeah, had they given it to Mulkey there would have absolutely been some thinly veiled (if veiled at all) racist comments from a number of folks including Staley.

They probably figured Kim would win them from here on out so they gave it to Dawn this year.

We all know why Kim didn't win it and Dawn did.

How is your post so heavily downvoted? I thought this was an LSU fan site. It's not even debatable that Mulkey should have been coach of the year, and that's not a biased take. The turnaround she produced was literally historic. And she didn't do it by showing up and bringing in five superstar transfers. The only real contributor this year that she brought in was Morris, and she had never had a year like she had this year, to my knowledge. That shows, overwhelmingly, what an incredible coaching job she did.

According to her she absolutely deserves it because according to her in a post game interview after she and her team were beaten at LSU by a team who lost to the team who replaced their coach after only given her a TEN YEAR CHANCE because she only had a ten year chance to get better. Oh yeah, that one loss was to LSU but that’s immaterial. It’s because the previous coach was black. Never mind that she was horrible at recruiting and the x and o game too. This so much bs - Mulkey probably turned in the best job ever performed. Mind boggling that the committee listens to one of the main recruits for winner of this award. What bullshite they listen to one of their own nominees but then listen to racist turned in racist crap turned in by the inferior race based inferior beaten coach. What an inferior coach to call foul on her own inability to turn in a win based on ability rather than an ability based on quality rather than superior ability who would choose ability rather than their own ability. Pitiful. Just pitiful. And by a good coach too. At least against most teams too - but not LSU. But that’s a whole. No other story though, by the one team that DID beat their arse. But that’s a whole nother story. In the mean time - you ready for another butt whooping next year? You can try home cooking and see if that’ll help…loser.

I'm just happy to see so many of you care enough about the women's SEC COY, that you've made this into a six or seven page thread.

Who'd have thunk it after all the morons that were on here last year complaining that Scott was paying her $2 million/year.

Actually, I like this. It will upset Mulkey and motivate her even more.

She was snubbed because her skin is the wrong color.

It had everything to do with it. Everyone knew they were gonna be good. LSU was picked to finish 8th!

The headlines should read "Staley wins coach of the year, Mulkey says hold my beer"
