Still experiencing spot shortages up here - gas prices ranging from $3.35 to as high as $4.79 a few days ago (station must have gotten one of the last shipments at the high price).

But I bet the leaves look magical this time of year where you stay. So you got that going for you, which is nice.

eta: I have always sucked at spelling.

Yes, leaves are starting to turn and it is nice. I live about a quarter mile off the Blue Ridge Parkway - will be riding down the parkway in a week or two to take in the sights.

3.39 in DC metro area. It's amazing that I think this is a great price.

I saw $2.99 for regular unleaded at Chevron on Highway 74 in Dutchtown.

Less than a half mile down the road, the Chevron on Highway 73 @ Highway 74 was charging $3.49 per gallon, for regular unleaded.

I saw a report on the news a couple of days ago that the price of gas in Baton Rouge won't go down until the gas station owners sell out of their supply, because that's what they purchased it at.

However, I do recall, that gas station owners had plenty of gas (albeit for a short while) before Gustav and they charged quite a bit more than what they paid for it.

Seems like a double standard to me.

So why the hell is it still $3.30 south of Lafayette? That sucks ...

Can the OP tell me how much $ is added to the wholesale price of gas? What does it include (ie delievery, etc)?

Just curious.
