Why doesn't River Parish Community College have a baseball team? Seems like they could have a very competitive team with the local baseball talent and grab players from Baton Rouge area, Ascension area, and even New Orleans. I feel that the kids would rather play at RPCC then going all the way to Eunice or New Orleans to play Juco. RPCC is probably a better school than BRCC as well. Would have to build a field probably at Lamar Dixon and don't know who would want to coach.

I am aware there are established programs and have produced talented players it was just a thought. As a college kid I rather be 15 minutes from Baton Rouge than in Eunice, LA or worried about living in New Orleans these days.

Because no baseball players want to study to be plant operators.

They have other degrees offered and you could get your general studies degree as well as take courses to the desired school you want to attend in the future. if that was the case then BRCC wouldn't have a team.

BRCC spun off of LSU, RPCC was a vo-tech that elevated to a community college.

All the way to Eunice? When’s the last time you left LA? There’s a whole world out there.

Baton Rouge isn’t any better than New Orleans at the moment. If they think they have any shot at getting a D1 spot after a year or two, they’re going to those spots. Maybe kids want to get out the river parishes.

Nunez started a baseball program a few years ago. They play their games at Chalmette HS and practice at Val Reiss (a local travel ball facility). It's the only athletic team Nunez has.

Basically a bunch of local kids were going to school there and wanted to keep playing baseball.

Not sure if any of the kids have gotten picked up by four year programs but the kids enjoy still getting to play baseball.

Money. Someone has to step in and decide to start one. Maybe you can be the one.

At one time, Hot Rod Williams built a nice field in Sorrento.

You are/where a regular college kid. If they’re good enough to go to LSUE they’re either looking to go into the draft or get into big time D1 baseball. They’re not all that interested in a normal college experience. This is their job.

I've been to Eunice a few times. Everytime it's been all the way to Eunice the whole trip.
