They is the boogeyman who controls the world.

I’ve asked you to make the argument in support of the US forcing Ukraine to cede its land to Russia as you advocated for yesterday and to explain how such a move would strengthen the US position on the world stage, but you ran away and refused to do so. Let’s hear the argument.

Are you going to make your argument for why making a peace deal with Putin right now is going to make us safer or not?

We’re on the verge of nuclear war. Anything to deescalate it does make us safer.

I’m waiting to hear how we were lied to about North Korea. Are you a Q guy now?

That’s it? You think capitulating to Putin because he has threatened nukes makes us safer?

How does that impact Putin’s future decision making? China? North Korea? Iran? You can’t be this simple minded.

It’s always this bottom of the barrel idiocy. I got banned like four times ridiculing Q. What do you think?

And Putin will honor this deal?

And if he shits on it per his routine and wants a better deal, do we make another deal to de-escalate?

Is there a point at which we stop this de-escalation strategy?

Does this not put us in a weaker position with regard to other countries with nukes and those who'll seek nukes to get "de-escalation"?

Trump was fooled and should have continued to listen to his instincts rather than listen to that genocidal little elf.

So if China says it will launch nuclear weapons unless Taiwan is given over to them then for the sake of peace, we should allow that to happen?

But this doesn't deescalate anything. You understand that right?

Either way the country is thrown into chaos. That is not the case with Ukraine.

We would have to, but we’d draw a red line.

Why not? We do concessions in wars all the time. What if Putin is satisfied with Donbas and Crimea?

This is head-in-the-sand wishful thinking. Russia doesn't consider the Ukrainian government legitimate. Why would Russia honor a deal?

This seems like a pretty sensible thing for a government to do when it finds itself under attack by a foreign actor. How you read weakness in this I just don’t know. As Dabos pointed out earlier, collective action in pursuit of a common benefit is a real human instinct.

I hate to add to the politicization of this thread, but in the mid 2000s I found myself driving and working in west Texas and New Mexico. The only thing on the radio at the time was Hispanic music, Jesus, and talent on loan from god. As someone informed by a conservative philosophy and likes a chuckle, Rush was the clear choice.

Clear as day though I remember Rush began telling listeners that he was leaving his cars idling in his driveway, essentially to own the libs. I think it was in response to Gore’s inconvenient truth documentary. And listeners started calling in and commented how long they’ve been idling their car.

This more than anything made me question whether Rush and his ilk were doing good by conservatives or were largely just nihilistic entertainers. You can’t be conservative if you embrace wanton waste or wholly reject the need for some level of collective action in society.

There’s sometimes a “I don’t know” is an appropriate answer. Either China threatening us with nukes over Taiwan or invading Taiwan would be the worst thing to happen in our lifetimes. It’s chaos either way, and I don’t have the answer to that. But Ukraine is salvageable to not get to something like that.
