LA Tech is likely a regional team but won’t host again unless they set the world on fire
Tulane will probably make a regional if they don’t melt down… which is entirely possible with Travis Jewett
Everyone else is kind of meh

Yeah I remember Tulane starting well. Lions are struggling very badly. The other LA southland teams seem to be on par and top of the conference.

Heard Tech's coach saying Martinez might be sliding into the Sunday spot

Here is the problem for Tech, Conference USA is the 9th ranked conference from an RPI standpoint with talent in the 5-6 range. Meaning that losses to talented teams will hurt more than they normally would.
Great example is Old Dominion who just finished the season sweep of ECU. They are a very, very talented team with basically no chance of an at-large because of their horrendous non-conference schedule. They have a terrible RPI. I guess they could sneak into at large territory but they would almost have to sweep either Tech or USM and win 2 of 3 at the other one.
Basically, there isn’t a lot of room for error for the Bulldogs in conference play. Blowing a five run lead last night stings even more because those are the kinda games that give you a little breathing room if you slip up in conference.
Tech needs to get things back on track and sweep Rice this weekend. Gotta have a sweep. Their RPI is in the 200 range.

What kind of world do we live in where Rice baseball has an RPI in the range of your average SWAC team?

Didn't get it.
While I enjoy watching college baseball, I don't follow the names and rotations for teams other than my team.
I heard LA Tech threw both their Friday and Sunday starters in the game this past Wednesday night. Is that true?
Throwing the Sunday starter probably isn't that odd, especially if they're still trying to decide who will be #3 and who will be #4.

Tech has major rotation issues right now. Burroughs announced Monday before the game that Fincher was removed from his Friday night role and Whorff from his Sunday role. Ryan Jennings was removed from his Saturday role a couple weeks ago, but he earned it back. He may start Sunday, but it is TBD. Jarred Whorff was our Sunday starter but he has been absolutely unplayable. He has cost us just about every game he’s pitched in. He’s the one who let the Cajuns back into the game after Tech got out to the 6-1 lead.
Our rotation this weekends is Gibson on Friday, Jennings on Saturday and TBD on Sunday.
So while it is technically true, some context is needed as they aren’t weekend starters right now. They’ve all been benched.
Also to note, Burroughs has always used his weekend rotation on the midweeks for a 1-2 inning relief spot if it lines up with their bullpen day.

Understand.
Hell, there's some Cajun fans who think the guy who threw those 100 pitches and 12Ks vs. ya'll on Wednesday should already replace one of our weekend starters. I don't think we have any real clue for our weekend rotation at this point either, which is very frustrating.

This weekend will be a big test for tech playing in adverse circumstances. All day games bc Marshall doesn’t have working lights. I think the rotation is set at this point, Gibson Jennings Fincher. Fincher as a preseason 3rd team all American has got to figure out.

Marshall needs to shut down their baseball program. They are a joke.

Tulane kills the ball and has decent pitching but man we can’t field for shite.

Cajuns are so close to being very good. We've blown super easily winnable games that would have us on the edge of hosting - USM, Arkansas, Troy X2, South Alabama, Georgia Southern. We should be 25-8 with a whole mess of Quad 1 wins. Blew games by walking like 5 consecutive batters, errors, being brain dead on the bases.
We do have series wins vs. South Alabama and Georgia Southern and we have series against Georgia State and Texas State left.
If we get hot and win the conference, I wouldn't be surprised. If we lose 8 in a row, I won't be surprised.

Shout out to the Nunez Pelicans off to a great start…
Today they got their first ever win over Delgado…

Bump…
Nunez beat BRCC and Delgado today and now they’re in the drivers seat at the conference tournament in Baton Rouge… they have to win once in the next two days to host a regional tournament

Lions have 6 games left. 3 teams are 11-7, 3 teams are 9-9. Top 2 teams host the first 2 brackets. Winner out of those play a series. Should be a Louisiana battle.
