Past lovers, people who I cared about who died, friends who moved away.

I realized tonight I can conjure up a memory in almost any part of this town of people who are gone from my life.

If is enough to make a man think about lighting out for the territories.

I grew up on land that was a former cotton plantation…if there is anywhere that should have ghosts, that would be the place. I’ve never seen a single one.

Welcome to life, where your options are to die or watch everyone you love die.

With rue my heart is laden
For golden friends I had,
For many a rose-lipt maiden
And many a lightfoot lad.

By brooks too broad for leaping
The lightfoot boys are laid;
The rose-lipt girls are sleeping
In fields where roses fade

To me, there is a chaotic comfort in that. You will always vividly remember those moments that came and went all while other people are making the same ones in the same spots.

Time marches on, we can either embrace it and live or dwell on it and be dead while we breath.

Very soulful post. The last sentence I didn’t get but I appreciate such a strong ponderance.

I used to be afraid of ghosts. Still am now but I used to be too.
