Anyone recommend a good travel case for flying?
Also, can I just stuff a few clothes in there and use it as luggage?

i bought a hard case off facebook market place for like 25-30 bucks with a 4 lock mech.

it was perfect, went to myrtle beach and to seattle.

there was alittle room in mine, i could put a few clothes but not like 3 days worth, maybe enough for 1 day

I've got a caddy daddy with a stiff arm.

Hard cases are good, but probably not necessary.

This 100%, I used a hard case years ago and it was cumbersome. Especially trying to fit it in some rental cars. I purchased a decent soft travel case.

Soft case off of Amazon for about $75. Flies all over the country with no issues. I do take the heads off of the "woods" and put in my carry on

Technically, yes, you can do this.

Having said that, the airline differentiates between golf bags and oversize luggage. For golf bags, they set a limit, ex: 1 pair of shoes, tees, balls.

although rare, I've seen a couple times airline questions passenger during bag checking, passenger tells them, "yea, there's clothes in there." Passenger ends up with oversize luggage fee which is quite a bit more than a standard golf club check.

I would only put in there what I could fit in my actual golf bag.

Yeah I used a hard case for awhile but the things are damn near impossible to fit into cars and just don't work well when travelling with other bags/cases.

I have never had an issue with my soft case.

I have a case that is soft on the bottom but has a hard shell around the club heads. It’s been great for me

I have a soft club glove bag.

I think what matters is how much you think you will travel with your clubs. Originally I bought a cheaper soft bag that held up for about a year or two before the handle strap that you pull the bag with started detaching from the bag.

Since I travel w clubs often I upgraded and have been satisfied. Had the clubglove for over 5 years w zero issues. The nice thing about the soft bag is it folds up easier for storage when the clubs are out.

I have always packed extra gear/some clothes pr toiletries in there with no issue. I just make sure that I travel w a lighter weight golf bag and keep the weight limit under 50lbs.

Golf balls are always heavy so sometimes I will place those in my carry on to help.

Hope that helps.

Just got a new Club Glove after 20 years with my previous one and I travel a lot with my clubs. Would not get any other brand.
