Anyone have comments about the 2022 Lexus 350 VS Acura MDX quality or trade in experiences.

I CURRENTLY own a 2015 Acura TLX. Has been good to me!

Honda/Acura isn't as reliable as it used to be but it sportier and more modern than Toyota/Lexus. Toyota/Lexus is incredibly reliable, often outdated, and drinks gas more than its counterparts.

The MDX is completely new for 2022, and while I've never experienced one, all the reviews I've read are very positive. Typical Acura stuff: sharp styling, a little on the sportier side, athletic to drive, good infotainment and tech. A Japanese Audi Q7, more or less.

I think they got bigger with the new bodystyle too?

The Lexus may be a little more proven over the long haul, given that it's been the same basic car since about 2015 with updates here and there. That can also be a negative if you value advanced/cutting-edge in a car. Either way, they're the two most reliable luxury brands, so you should have a good car no matter what.

I believe Lexus added a touchscreen for 2022 so you don't HAVE to use their hateful trackpad system to navigate the infotainment anymore. That alone is a fantastic upgrade inside.

Also, at least go check out a Genesis GV80. That is all...

The reliability statements are generally true but the MDX is has done pretty well recently and similar to the RX UNLESS you keep a car until the wheels fall off the the Lexus has a distinct advantage, based on the OP it doesn't seem to be the case.

The MDX will handle better than the RX in both routine and emergency handling but the RX actually has a real world MPG advantage. Note the MDX recommends 91 octane.

The MDX is three row where you have the choice of the RX or RX350L depending on whether 2 or 3 rows best fits your use case.

owned both. both comfortable and quiet. the mdx drives better (particularly wit AWD). Lexus used to be more plush but Acura has caught up on that. better mpg with the acura.

Wife has a 2020 Lexus. It’s a good vehicle and I think they updated the interior dash finally.

This thing is ancient. They are redesigning for 2023/2024. The styling isn't great, and the interior technology is very dated even with the new touchscreen. But it is very reliable.

The RX will be much better when they give it the new NX design update. Rumor is that they will finally give it a 3rd row that humans can use. The current RX-L has a 3rd row that is on par with the back seat of a Camaro or Mustang.

Definitely the better of the two, assuming Honda/Acura continue to build reliable cars. Note that the 3.5L engine in the MDX will require a new timing belt at around 75,000 miles. You may as well just replace the water pump while you have the front of the engine open then.

Just something to keep in mind.

My dad just ordered a new MDX from the BR dealership. They told him a 3 month wait and he paid 3K above MSRP.

Got the wife (no pics) the 2022 MDX a few months back. She seems to like it. When I drive it the only thing I dont like about it is that if you go over the line a little bit it nudges the steering wheel. You can turn that off though.

A neighbor of mine has had 2 RX350's (2020 and 2021) and he loves them. That model is getting a little long in the tooth though and Toyota doesn't really make many updates to their vehicles (the shifter in the new RX is the same one that was in my old 2007 4Runner).

I'd also look at the Audi Q7 as I have been very impressed with my Audi and it doesn't seem like you hold onto cars forever so reliability after the warranty expires may not have as many issues.

The New NX interior >>>>>>>>> Acura

I own a 2021 IS 350 F-Sport and am biased toward Lexus though.

I’d also consider the Mazda CX-9 Signature. Will drive better than either the Acura or Lexus and it has comparable interior quality.
