Right at midway through the second half LSU completes the choking away of a 15 point halftime lead and state drains an open 3 to go up.

Pinson comes down drives the lane for a lay up. Makes a solid pass to days (who got called for a charge) and then drives the lane to get to the line for two FTs to take back the lead.

He didn’t try to win the game in one possession by heaving up a 3 from downtown. He didn’t try to do an iverson crossover and give up a bad turn over. He drove the lane and took smart high percentage shots to stay right in it and lock down on the defensive end.

He’s a senior and played like it. Gaines will get there but this is pinsons team.

Thought the same thing. Pinson wasn't perfect but when we needed some buckets he got them.

Pinson is the only hope for LSU this season, next season it’s going to be more balanced

Improved free throw shooting is huge in conference games.

vs MSU - 71%
vs ATM - 69%

vs Bama - 60%
vs MISS - 61.5%
vs ARK - 65%

Have to work on the long scoring droughts (especially to open the game) and giving up too many offensive rebounds.

Pinson missed 2 FTs in the last minute and Gaines missed 1. Those 3 points would have changed the game and how MSU played it. Just my opinion. FT shooting is big.

As far as the team, it is obvious why Wade went got Pinson. He didn’t have a PG that was ready to lead this team and Pinson was the stop gap.

People need to understand that this isn’t ‘80’s basketball from recruiting. Wade is closer to coaches like Cal when it comes to building a roster. One and done is a huge part of building your roster and through coaching, have them ready by tournament time.

Pinson’s importance is that opponents have to respect his outside shot and come out and guard him. That allows him to use his experience and savvy to get in the lane to create. He makes LSU tougher to defend and provides someone who can create his own shot (probably the only guard who can consistently do so).

Gaines, while a great defender, doesn’t threaten teams offensively. They can sag to cut off his drives knowing he is little threat from outside.

Pinson did not shoot it well last night. However, he only had 3 TOs in 34 minutes which he counterbalanced with 3 steals.

I’m gonna attribute that to still being a little rusty after the injury. He actually was starting to shoot it well from deep right before he got hurt. Hope he can return to that in the coming games.

I wanna know what happened to murray. Days threw up a ton of shots and murray only takes 4? And makes 2 of them. Why does he have games where we just dont get him involved? Is he still hurt?

That hand may not be 100% yet, that's all I got cause he should be shooting more than 4 times.

Murray and Eason should take a majority of the shots. Followed by Pinson and Days. Murray is a consistent shooter when healthy.

Murray has to still be a little banged up. He def needs more than 4 shots in a game.

Yes, Murray is 15 of this last 32 on threes with a hand that's not quite 100% I don't think.

And if Eason keeps improving on that shot like he has been he'll be hard to stop. He's even adjusted to how he's been defended and is going left more and more efficiently.

Yes when teams are backing off of Eason forcing him left he needs to take the 3 instead of getting into trouble with the dribble. Once they’re running at him to close out he can go to his right where he’s much much better.
