Wade and recruiting PGs

I’d like to first point out that I’m all about the Wade Train. Is he without flaws? No. But he’s been a breath a fresh air from Johnson and Jones with a lot of room for growth.
That being said, I can’t quite grasp why he can land highly rated bigs left and right; Days, Williams, Reid, Watford, Reid, Phillips and Traore to name a few. Yet he hasn’t been able to snag any good PGs which imo are the driving force of great CBB teams.
Waters is the exception that I can think of and Wade did a great job of developing him. If he can start pulling in some great PGs, I think the sky’s the limit.

Do you even marvel allen?

Lol how about Smart? I'd more say we've had issues with getting off guards than PGs here. Tremont to Smart to Pinson and were supposed to have Miller. Pretty good if you ask me.
Edit- and we just got a 5 star PG.

Have you seen our recrutiting class for next year? Are you aware of Xavier Pinson?
Recruiting a true big who can generate offense has been a much bigger hole IMO

It's amazing how many people just started following LSU basketball this year.

His offense relies heavily on playmaking guards. Waters, Smart, Mays, Cam Thomas. We don't have anyone at that level this year. We may have had one with Miller, and we'll see what he can next year.

Might want to do some research on upcoming rosters if you want to make this argument.

This is his 5th year and his PG's have been Tremont, Skylar, Javonte (CG, but worked for the offense), and Pinson with Allen on the way. Your point makes no sense. You could say he didn't develop Pinson obviously but he recruited him here.

Yes I have it consists of a 5 star PF and C and a 4 star SF.
Allen is for 23 and hasn’t reclassified yet.
Pinson is a fine player but he’s also a senior and hasn’t been able to stay healthy and almost averages as many turnovers as assists.
He clearly made a difference last night and hopefully he can get to 100% and keep that up.

Miller was also going to be a ball handler. He played PG for the U-19 Team USA this past summer.
wade has done a fine job getting ball handlers in here, not sure what the criticism is. I'd much rather well rounded ball handlers than a guy who averages 7 assists, 8 points and is a defensive liability probably too.

So essentially one guy a season. No depth though. You need more than one guy who can create for everyone else.
We saw how bad our team was this year when Pinson went out. It wasn’t pretty.

You seem to be way too hung up on labelling a player a PG when the designation doesn't really matter. We've had great guard play under Wade. Waters, Mays, Smart and to an extent Thomas, were all guys we could and did run the offense through and our offensive numbers have been great every year until this one. This is honestly a baffling thing to bring up as a criticism of Wade.

You just start watching LSU basketball in the last 3 weeks or something?
You’re ignorance shines brightly for all to see. Well done

Incorrect.
Year 1: Tremont and Skylar
Year 2: Tremont, Skylar, and Smart
Year 3: Skylar and Smart
Year 4: Smart and Gaines (Thomas could create as well)
Year 5: Pinson and Gaines (Miller injured)
End Thread
