Well that’s what a starting TE is… a TE1. Game breakers like Kittle, Kelce, or Waller are different.

He used them as a second tackle or a Halfback, not pass catchers that could benefit the offense.

I’m high on Moreau too, and I think he could start for several as a TE teams, but I I don’t think he’s a TE1.

Sooooo what's your definition of TE1 exactly ?

It’s semantics of course, but top shelf TEs limited. So are QBs, WRs, etc.

The Saints for instance had no WR 1 with Thomas out. His replacements wasn’t a 1 was he? They lost Sanders their WR2. His replacement wasn’t a 2.

See where I’m coming from?

But I do believe Moreau is a top 32 TE. I hope he gets a shot at starting.

An elite go to guy. Kearse, Kittle, Wollers, Pitts, etc. I guess they have to catch 50 to 60 balls or more and be a third down and red zone weapon. It’s subjective of course.

Foster > Pitts for a true TE. Pitts is a jacked up WR.

I get what you're saying but with Thomas out you don't have another top32 receiver in the league so you don't have a true WR1. If they were the Bucs with Godwin/Evans or Bengals with Chase/Higgins and one of them goes down you still have a WR1 because they are in that top 32 in the league. If you think he's a top 32 TE then that would make him a TE1 by your own definition.

So basically you're using the Fantasy Football definition of Pos1.

I love stories like Foster’s: he was the last guy in the door, offered the night before signing day, a “throw in” recruit from New Orleans. Might have been a 2-star. Yes, he had Burrow as a quarterback who made everyone look better but the truth is by the time he was a senior he was out there playing, catching balls and making first downs. The fact that he not only made a NFL roster but is out there playing in the playoffs is awesome. Love rooting for the James Wrights, Alfred Blues and Russel Gages who make it.

And Russel Shepard could have been a great QB if they would have just used him correctly.

Yes, that and just general knowledge.
It’s subjective of course.

He will be a TE1 when he gets out from behind Walller

Maybe so, but he won’t be a strong TE1 that would justify a late first or early second round draft choice. I like Foster. I know him personally and his dad. I’m happy for the success he’s having, but LSU did not cost him anything.

His playing time is only going up, if I was a team I would potentially trade for
him. Proving himself, healthy, young, and lots of upside. I think the TE game at LSU since the 21st century has been lacking and he was one of the best to come out of LSU.

Foster wasn't told he could sign until 8 AM on signing day.

Let me use a baseball analogy for football.
Cole for the Yankees us an ace, a SP1. He is their 1.
The Detroit Tigers 1 is Casey Mize. He uxx as nog considered a SP 1 yet.
LSU is looking for a Friday starter. They certainly will start someone on Friday but unlike last year there is no Hill if a Marceaux. Thus people are saying we need as Friday starter to emerge.
