Looking to stay a couple nights at a hotel in NOLA for 6th Anniversary in May. Anyone have recommendations of one with a good restaurant and bar? Looking to stay in FQ/Marigny or LGD.
Something in the same vein as Hotel Peter & Paul and The Chloe.

Id say the best hotel bar in New Orleans is the polo lounge at the Windsor court. They’ve recently re launched the restaurant to take it back to its glory days. I’d try there.

Check out the Ace Hotel, bar/lounge and pretty good restaurant. Also the Virgin hotel. Cool atmosphere and patio bar on the upper floor is cool as well.

All great suggestions so far.
I second the Windsor Court and get a Club Level room. If for nothing else the valet situation in that courtyard is so nice. LOL.
Can confirm the Virgin is legit

If you like Peter and Paul you will like the St Vincent.
Better location too.

I've been wanting to try San Lorenzo.. Had reservations with a group that got cancelled due to COVID.
Checked rates and they are showing $500+ a night which seems a touch ludicrous

Don't know about all that. The restaurants are pretty good. Cool settings. Think you can walk to Gris Gris and have a better meal though.

Best options on a big weekend, regardless of costs - Saint, Virgin, The Chloe, Ace, NOPSI. Also checking out St. Vincent soon on a staycation, but heard good things.
And surprised its not been mentioned yet, and oldie but goodie, The Roosevelt.

A touch ludicrous??? That's insane pricing in my eyes for a room you're not spending much time in, and when you are, you're probably sleeping or getting ready to sleep.

I don’t care much for the rooms at the Roosevelt. Maybe I just had bad luck the two times I stayed there, but the rooms were small and bathrooms were tiny. They also must not have changed the windows out during the fix up after Katrina because I could hear cars honking, loud music, and people yelling from the street half the night.
I do love the Sazerac bar though when it’s not crowded

St Vincent is cool, and has both a restaurant & bar. But also some great options within blocks

They also have a bar at the bottom that has music at night. Hot Tin as such a unique view of the city p, but can get crowded at night. Not sure how the rooms are.

Maison de la Luz has what I believe is a private bar for hotel guests and a secret passageway into Bar Marilou through a bookcase next to it. Never stayed there but ate and drank at Marilou and it was good.

This sounds awesome. I guess I didn't realize these hotels drove such high nightly rates. I'm looking at a mid may weekend and all of these rates are higher than Richard Pryor.

What Blackened Out said. Love the WC, the bar and the restaurant.

Hands down the finest hotel in New Orleans
Hope the restaurant is back.
That huge kettle of constant stock in the kitchen was impressive

When the wife and I want to splurge in New Orleans, it's usually with a suite at the Roosevelt.
