You clearly don’t understand that statement if you think it’s a gotcha of some kind. It means the same thing as the data I quoted. Less than 29% of the population is unvaccinated, so less than 29% of people hospitalized with the virus would be unvaccinated if the vaccine weren’t helping people stay out of the hospital. That’s what the 6 times more likely stat means.
They are playing games (like the CDC does) with the numbers.
If you look at the report...they have two categories: Unvaccinated and Doubled Vaccinated.
So if you are in Hospital but received just one dose.....what category are you in?
Data published by the NSW government’s COVID-19 Critical Intelligence Unit has revealed that as of Jan. 9, 68.9 percent of COVID-19 patients aged 12 and over in hospitals had two doses of the vaccine, with 28.8 percent unvaccinated.
No doubt you will be counted as "unvaccinated"......so the 68.9% of vaxxed patients in Hospital could actually be 98.9%.

By preventing infection. Once you’re infected, the outcomes are very similar, statistically.
Most of the benefit was from preventing infection, but not all of it. And that was with Delta. We don’t really know yet with Omicron. The data in this article is based on current hospitalizations. We are missing a few data elements to truly understand the context (% of the overall population infected broken out by vaccination status, % of infections that are Omicron, % of patients who have been tested by vaccination status, etc.), but the current statistics there are showing a benefit of the vaccine in preventing severe outcomes.

Of the 20 people who died with Covid in the past 24 hours in NSW; 16 were fully vaccinated, and only 4 were unvaccinated.

Do you understand that there is not a 100 percent effective vaccine?
I remember when I joined the military and the nurse gave me my yellow fever vaccine. After the shot she said: “now I’m going to need you to keep wearing a mask, social distance, and get a booster every six months because you can still catch, spread and die from yellow fever”

Why do you think double vaccinated and unvaccinated only add up to 98.7%? There’s only one other possible category and that one shot. So we know one shot is only 1.3%.

If 29% of the hospitalized patients being unvaccinated represents a 6x likelihood of being hospitalized for the unvaccinated, then 20% of those dying being unvaccinated would represent a 4x chance of dying. 94% of the population is fully vaccinated there.

I’m just wondering when there will be this large of a push to control the obesity problem in America or throw millions of dollars into fixing the broken mental health system.
At this point, who really gives a shite about the data. Can we really trust ANY data right now? Anyone can skew data.
Vaccinate. Don’t vaccinate. Idgaf, but the greatest risk for hospitalization AND death is and has always been obesity and comorbids. So, where’s the push for a healthier America?

This is bound to happen everywhere as vaccinations increase.
when covidians were yelling 98% of hospitalizations from February were unvaccinated it was all bullshite because most everyone wasn’t vaccinated.
And the people like me who said that number will shoot down once people get vaccinated and it will be the majority of vaccinated in hospitals was right?
Yet you used that data to scare people into getting vaccinated.
Can’t use logic now, fricking dumb arse cult followers

IOW it doesn’t work....
No. It’s because if you have 100 people, and 99 are vaccinated, The vaccine would have to reduce the likelihood of hospitalization by 100 times in order to avoid having more vaxed in the hospitals. If it reduced hospitalizations 50 times it would be a great success, yet we would still have twice the vaxed in hospitals as unvaxed.

Uh, do you understand that yellow fever relies on a specific mode of transmission that isn't analogous to COVID?
