Scream 5 Spoilers

Just finish the movie. I thought it was pretty good for sequel of a stale franchise. Always loved the scream And how it was aware of itself and the horror genre.
Loved how they killed Dewey. It showed that the stakes are bigger than the rehash sequels before. At one point I was thinking that the twins would be the killers…. Because they are always two killers.
Was really cool how the ending setting turned out to be Stu’s house from the originals
As it got close to the end of the movie it was a little obvious that Richie was one of the killers. But amber killed liv, that came out of now where and wasn’t expecting that.
I’m on the fence on the twins surviving. The guy looked pretty bad being stabbed (also his is Cuba gooding jr son). But I also liked the ending. Hopefully the original cast storyline is complete, leaving us with a new 4 person cast if sequels will be made.
I was not a fan of the opening. The big plot hole is how was ghostface-Richie able to film Amanda outside her window when he was at the house? Is there a third ghostface?
The whole hospital setting in theory is kinda stupid. Police always die on duty, why only have 1 guard? How can ghostface attack Sam in the break room and no one see ghosts face inter or leave.
Very cringe on the motive and how Richie and Amanda met on Reddit
The whole mom cheated on husband in high school stuff was a little stupid. They will 100% use that storyline in the sequel, coming back to the storyline of scream 2.

I thought it was fine. The Dewey Gale Weathers meeting was very sad and I felt horrible about Dewey. Didn’t really like the main character was having psychotic visions. That’s overly out of left field.

I thought that was fine, made sense. Billy would do that.

I never felt like the brother was the killer. He was to genuine the entire movie

Not really. 1 they could have prerecorded it. Or, if they definitely suggest that Amanda lives close by

How so? People meet IRL from Reddit all the time.

Just left
One of the dumbest movies I've ever seen
No consistent tone
Not scary
Tried to be so meta and smart that it literally became dumb
Tried to subvert expectations and create a new path for a rebooted franchise but took no risks and just was a blah mess

Amber staged that whole video

It was the only way they could shoehorn Billy Loomis into the film and I don’t think it was worth it.

Did you not see 3? It may have been even worse in that regard.

She showed her a video of Amanda. Doesn’t mean it wasn’t taken an hour earlier. Or anytime before, really.
I thought it was a delayed video when I was watching it. I was kind of surprised that they didn’t make that clear early on.

I stopped after 2.
I do know that the villains' motivations are basically the exact same as the one with Emma Roberts, though.
If this movie really wanted to be meta, it would have made the first girl the biggest fricking idiot in the world for claiming Babadook as her favorite horror movie. THAT would have been meta.
The part where they really think they're clever is by focusing the meta on "toxic internet fandom" and dropping random references like "4chan" and "Reddit", that they've created a teflon scenario for criticism.

It was timed perfectly, though.
Although there is a rabbit hole of plot holes about the killers. This 5-0, 90 lb women goes toe to toe with a grown man in hand to hand combat? She's taller than he is?

I thought it was perfectly fine. I went with low expectations though. Was not expecting to see Skeet Ulrich in a scream movie again.
And Dewey had it figured out right away. Smart guy, RIP

I went last night and enjoyed it. Rolled my eyes at the reveal and the reason why the killers were doing what they were doing.
The best part of the film was the kills. They upped the gore and it made Ghostface scary and threatening again. Whenever he was on screen you knew Ghostface was about to frick someone up. Radio Silence set that tone right away when he broke Tara's leg.
I was fine with the Billy Loomis' kid thing. It was a stretch but we got to see Billy and that was unexpected.
I'm glad Dewey died. I've been calling for one of those three to die for years.
All the meta shite was annoying. Especially the sit down at Randy's sister's house. No one talks like that about movies.

Haven’t seen it, but read the plot. Sounds terrible and sucks to hear the motivation is just a rehash of Scr4m.
Stu coming back, Sid finally snapping, Billy and Sid’s secret love child put up for adoption taking revenge on mom all would have been better.

The first one was a commentary on horror films and it executed that brilliantly. Now it’s partially a commentary on film across the board, but it’s also largely about previous Scream films.
The meta aspect of it is just too much now to the point that this film didn’t know what it wanted to be. It spends way too much time winking at the viewer and letting us know that they’re in on the “joke” and less time being entertaining.
The meta stuff is cool and all, but only if everything else around it is cool. Story and characters weren’t great in this, and I certainly didn’t care for a cardboard Courtney Cox. Every time Gale and Sid were on screen it felt like the actresses had no desire to be there.

Exactly. It tried to be so meta that it edged into spoof territory.

Courtney Cox looked real bad, especially when she was right next to Campbell.

BRUH, there were legit kids (younger than 12) all over my movie theater last night.
There are some pretty brutal and gory murders, too. My fiance (who isn't some religious zealot or anything) was shocked.
I can't imagine jumping head first into "terrible parenting/trash" waters for this piece of shite movie. At least show them a good horror movie.
