ETA: Some of yall saying he was forced out? I understand Kelly is all about discipline but why would he get rid of one of our top DBs for next year?

Sounds like you answered your own question.

He is trying to destroy one culture and create a new team culture. You can't play favorites when trying to build a program. The entire team has the same set of rules to abide by. This is no one's fault but Dwight's. Get with the program or gtfo. Seems like a solid message to me.

I know everyone is going to freak out about these departures, but ultimately if these guys don't want to be here then leave. Next year will probably be fairly bleak, but this program needs a bleach bath...so if you aren't all in...GTFO.

So the word was that he was academically ineligible for the bowl game.

One of the few transfer portal rules is that the player must be in good academic standing. So if he’s ineligible how the hell is he transferring?

This statement is incorrect. Even if he is academically ineligible, he can still transfer. However, he would not qualify for the one-time transfer without having to sit out a year waiver of the residency requirement for transfers.

Not anonymous. Haven’t you learned when it comes to transfers and people start reporting it on this board and 247 it usually comes to fruition? The only reason Boutte didn’t leave is because some attorney stepped up and paid him. NCAA must go back to having to sit for a year if you transfer. Only way to slow this crap down!

Ed O get all of the blame for our roster being depleted and deservingly so. Does Corey Raymond get some blame for us not having any competent CB’s?

Yeah I get all that but I doubt many are gonna be saying oh well we’re getting our culture in order when we’re getting torched by Bama and Ole Miss through the air all day. This is not great.

Mainieri did this when he first got here and got rid of some of the better players. People were pissed. But to change the culture you have to have rules and a mentality that is followed by all. Sean payton also did this in new orleans. It doesnt hurt as much as people think if a coach knows what he is doing

Yep in the early stages you absolutely cannot put up with any BS or anyone not adhering to the program. That is the only way to build a culture. Then when the wins come people buy in even more and you can recruit the 5* with a big ego because the moment he walks in the building his attitude will change. Don't get me wrong you still need 5*'s in the short run, but you cannot have any so-so character and discipline guys.

I like this move. frick anyone who thinks they're above the team or program. Get rid of that cancer even if you have to start over. After spring we will have some good DBs hit the portal. We'll probably poach a few from Arkansas that are pretty good too.

How do you know that his replacements won't work out better? The guys we get through the portal could end up being better. If we play team defense we will be fine. I wouldn't melt about getting torched by a team 10 months before we play them.

I don’t agree with drug testing kids for marijuana because a lot of kids smoke it, especially in college. That’s why Dare Rosenthal left as well. Arik Gilbert tried to get by smoking the fake shite and he has fallen into a very dark place by trying to get around the policies. LSU has some of the stiffest punishments and drug testing policies in the country. Although I don’t agree with it, rules are rules and I’m glad BK doesn’t make any exceptions
