Imagine 9 Sotomayors on the bench

There isn't a Biden EO that would come across she wouldn't rubber stamp. It could be gulags for Republicans, and she would say it was necessary.
This just shows the SC and courts in general have too much power. I have no idea how the Kav and ACB will rule, but at least they will put some thought into it(even if they are wrong).
The founders one mistake was by not allowing states to have emergency ejection buttons to get the hell out if the federal government went insane, and allow the states to have their own militias to defend themselves when they decided to leave. At least having this option on the table, could possibly keep the federal government in line.

The bench would be empty. Just 9 tiles on a Zoom call.

The Founders did have an ejection button, but it was revoked in the 17th Amendment when the States lost control of the Senate.

It was there before the Civil War. The south tried to use it. The North threated to use in in the early 1800's.
Now, we are just screwed.
I have always believed that if states could vote themselves out of the Union, then the Union wouldn't mistreat them (i.e. not letting Alaska drill for oil) and the feds would be a LOT more careful in crazy decision making like we are seeing now.

This is what happens when you appoint people based on race and sex and not intelligence and merit.

Name the Article in the Constitution .....there is no such thing.
And don't try the trash Cash Opinion ....It' doesn't make secession against the law. No Amendment written or passed to prevent a state from leaving.

If a state wanted to leave, I don't think its something you ask permission for, you just do it.
Problem is, the states don't have any muscle, and the feds have all the muscle. So the states are essentially held in hostage against their will by a handful of radical urban areas.

The 17th Amendment needs amending so that senators are appointed by the states and serve at the pleasure of the states legislatures again. Popular vote should only be invoked if the the legislature hits an impasse.

Sotomayor also had “empathy.”

OR...even 9 Roberts. (He makes ANY obvious common-sense ruling a coin-flip).
Even with GOP Presidents choosing the vast majority of SCOTUS justices, no logic and common sense prevails still and all. HOW has "Constitutional" become nothing but a Coin-Flip?
To say that something is totally "fricky" with SCOTUS is an understatement.

Yes. For the Marx. Stalin. And as a "wise Latino" -- especially for Castro.

Actually the courts have the LEAST power
The court has neither purse nor sword.
It requires a willing executive branch to enforce its rulings: Sword
It requires Congress to be willing to go along with the president(impeachment power) and fund the courts decisions: Purse

They provided for 2 "ejection buttons"

If and when the anticipated "Stay" ruling arrives, I'm sure there are a few jokers from the bottom of the deck Team Rat-Globalist has already shuffled to the top.
