Biden just threw down the democracy gauntlet
Opinion by Frida Ghitis - Yesterday 2:04 PM
President Joe Biden, marking the anniversary of the January 6 attack at the US Capitol, delivered the most powerful, blistering speech of his presidency thus far, signaling a stark shift in his approach to the nation's ongoing crisis of democracy.
Biden pummeled former President Donald Trump, mentioning him 16 times but without once using Trump's name -- and doing it in ways that surely infuriated the disgraced politician in Mar-a-Lago.
Biden noted in his remarks that the former president started spreading election lies long before the November 2020 election, preemptively looking for an excuse should he be defeated. "He's not just the former president," Biden declared, "He's a defeated former president; defeated by a margin of over 7 million of your votes."
The piercing jabs kept coming: "The former president of the United States has created and spread a web of lies ... He's done so because he values power over principle."
His words and delivery were quite a contrast from the Biden whose speeches, especially those dealing with democracy and the future of the nation, have tended to emphasize national unity and reconciliation. The shift reflected a recognition that the insurrection of January 6 is not simply a part of the past, but a looming threat into the future.

You can tell the feelings of the progressive leftists by the tone of Biden's speeches. Biden is a literal puppet. His mind is completely gone. He does whatever is told. The people running the show, are the Jen Psaki, AOC, Ilhan Omar, young idiotic progressive types.

Anyone who believes anything that comes out of Joe Biden's mouth is nothing short of an ignorant jackass, just like Joe is.
I wonder if that applies to anyone on this board................

...and people don't even realize that they're doing everything they can to get Trump back on the '24 ticket!
Does ""please don't throw me in the briar patch" ring a bell?

President Trump warned the US what their plans were - no lies needed. However, after the Russia dossier lies and fake impeachment, I believe most of us saw what was coming, what with the covid excuse for mail-in ballots and harvesting, not to mention voting for months, counting past election day, etc.

Sounds as if he actually believes the fairy tale. Pitiful

Yeah...sure, Joe. "Well son of a bitch"...I guess we all had better believe him or he'll take our money away.
Biden's persona, perfectly symbolizes his spiritual and psychological profile. Spit polish suit on the outside, full of sh%* on the inside. One sided smile and eyes like somebody you don't want to fondle your daughter.
Disgusting.

This is his finest moment. Think about that for a minute.
He has nothing to talk about other than a riot of citizens that thought an election was stolen. (Right or wrong) I believe the right to peacefully protest should not be discouraged even if a few knuckleheads do stupid things. (That seems to be a common thing with all other "peaceful protests")
Biden has a disastrous economic, foreign policy and legislative record his first year. This is in addition to his covid "shutting down the virus" results. He has nothing else. What a failure!!!

You can just feel and hear their shifting strategies as they look toward the midterms and 2024. From Jan 6 to Trump to the jobs report, inflation, legislation, you name it.

Joe was projecting heavily in that teleprompter reading session.

Didn't listen to his speech, but you can tell this Presidency has been a failure so far when after being in office for a year spent more time talking about the former President, than his administration's accomplishments.

What truly pisses me off is that they keep telling us that Trump is responsible for spreading lies about the election.
When many of us were fricking awake and saw this shite happen in real time.
I couldn’t give a shite what Trump says about the election. The fact that they keep telling me that I can’t trust my own eyes and that I have to believe them sets me off. They kicked out poll watchers from states that swung to joe overnight. They lied about being tired and having to pause the count. They lied about flooding and so on.

I think this is a strategy. If there was no threat of him running in 2024 it would be reduced (but not eliminated, because they'd need to try and blame him for many of their shortcomings and missteps).
In my opinion, Trump isn't the one they need to worry about.
