It’s uneven. The university is limited in the # of people that can replace that player. The player gets out of their contract Scott free without penalty.
The player can absolutely bail before the season is up. Just look at LSU. The university isn’t going to just kick you out if classes during the semester. Unless you did some serious shite that basically gets you expelled. Like criminal stuff or cheating. shite even 1 time cheating prob won’t get you booted as a football player.

I, like others probably, only watched ONE NFL game last year. The Super Bowl. I, like others probably, will watch only ONE NFL game this year. The Super Bowl. I used to live for the NFL on tv. No longer care.

And how about for the players who want to say "you know what, I think I want the chance to play in a couple of final fours for two different teams before I try out for the NFL"
No loyalty, ..pretty hard for fans to stay loyal to the love of the game and devote their time and money to the game as well. Very sad time for fans.

An LSU bowl game with over half of the players not playing for various reasons would not have happened just a few years. College football is being destroyed.

Never watched nascar and had no idea they banned that flag. But there you go, making it about race. You may be liberal (since racism is their go to) but you can't be liking the direction of this country even as a liberal?
