Temp dropping
Windy
Platform stand on wood line separating 2 CRP fields

Cold front is here now. I brought layers but this wind has me reconsidering my stand choice. Seen 13 deer so far and they are feeling it. 2 young bucks chasing and even some of the does running and bucking.

Just saw fine 8pt cold trailing. If I didn’t already have one getting put on the wall from this year I would have shot. Can’t guarantee he’ll get a second pass though

Just north of Osyka, MS

Ground hunting in a mixture of pine and hardwoods.

35 Remington

Had a nice 2.5 year old 8 point and a doe walk within, 10 yards of me earlier. Decided to let him grow since I don't need the meat.

Yep, cold front is here. Feels like it’s a dropped 10* in the past 10 minutes, wind has picked up, drizzling, and I’m in the wide open feeling like I’m on a boat.

What I’ve put myself through over the decades for a damn deer.

Avoyelles Parish. I’m in the duck blind and dad is in the deer stand. It was 59° when we woke up and it’s around 40°. Wind is cold. Not much flying but deer are moving. About to get the rifle and make a mid day hunt.

Is it you or sparty that are hunting the large managed property in Helena? The only "trophy" property in that parish.
