BlisToSol is the ONLY thing I've found that actually works on fungus...burns like hell when first applied but worth a little discomfort...

Hey Gang,
Since being in the military I have had horrible athlete's foot. Do yall know of a good doctor in the BR area who has helped one of you? Yes, I shower everyday. Its bad. My flesh is exposed. I constantly moisturize it. Scratching it gives me an o face.

Sounds like you need to try fighting it from the inside(anti fungal tablets). Your pcp can prescribe a strong anti fungal tablet to take for about a week. It's not bad. "No booze" and "make sure take with food" blah blah blah. But it'll kill any fungi in your body.

Bruh. You can wash your feet all you want. It won't make athlete's foot go away.
Use this stuff every day. Take a shower in the morning, dry your feet thoroughly, and apply this stuff liberally.

Athlete's foot cream

Then, repeat the process before you go to bed.

This right here really works. You can get the cheap equate brand from walmart.

One tube of that stuff, and no athlete's foot for 15 years.

Hey Gang,
Since being in the military I have had horrible athlete's foot.

Side question. I thought one of the staples of military service was foot care.

How did you go through military and not get taught incredible foot conditioning?

Eta: not accusatory, genuinely curious.

WE had to step into that before entering the locker room back in 1970. That was also at public swimming pools back in the 1950's and 1960's before and after which was located between the locker rooms and the pools

A good dermatologist will help immensely. I had dry feet and some toenail fungus. I took Lamasil tablets ( they do a liver test ), then followed with Eucerin, roughness relief, spot treatment cream, and all is so much better.
You may have to attack it internally with oral treatment first.
Good luck.

The few times I got it, Lotrimin spray cleared it up quickly. Works on swamp-sack too.. Burns like white hot fire, but is very effective.

Depends on the branch and MOS. I'd imagine some units are only going to make it an issue if the person is not doing his job. They can say things like, "take care of your feet, here's how." But outside of basic training, they're not going to check your toes to make sure you're taking care of yourself.

It's amazing what people will tolerate. I've seen people with the entire bottom of their feet cracked and bleeding from athlete's foot. Ingrown toenails, etc. When asked why they didn't use some athlete's foot cream, you get stuff like, "I thought if I just kept them clean it would go away." How long was that? 3 years (or in this dude's case 15.)

Rant: People wonder why the healthcare system is such a mess. It's because people will wait until they're practically dying from something before seeing a doctor. (Women with stage 4 breast cancer practically eroding a hole in their breast. People with their teeth rotting in their mouths leading to heart valve replacement from infection.)

TL;DR: Nip problems in the bud before they become big problems.

Go see a doctor. You probably don’t have traditional athletes foot. More than likely you have a fungus infection that can be cleared up on a permanent basis with a short round of meds and never deal with it again. Especially true if you have dry hands that crack and peel. Usually one hand more than the other.

See a doctor.

Use antiperspirant cream or dip your feet in tea. Change socks 2 or 3 times a day kf you are on your feet often.

This is your solution, there is a oral medication they can prescribe that will cure it.
