Are schools still not able to get a list of who signed in the early period in case they're just pretending and entertaining people for the next two months when already signed like Jardin Gilbert did last year?

Didn’t Brian Kelly come here so he could get all of that 5 star talent he couldn’t get at ND?

Y’all are incredibly stupid. We will get left behind if we go after the “intellectual and hard working players”.

There has to be a balance. Do you think guys like Howard and Campbell won’t be getting some NIL money?

The balance shifted much too far in favor of money and mercenaries the last couple of years under O. What good are those players when they opt out, sit out for “injuries” or just flat leave?

Now is the right time to prioritize elite recruits who also check a few other boxes like leadership and character.

If this is what it takes to win, not sure I care about it anymore.

Now is the time to dish out money like the big boys are doing. You’re kidding yourself if you think our class is even remotely close to Bama or A&M.

Harold Perkins is a huge position of need, not going after him is inexcusable.

You aren’t wrong. You can find a lot of talent in lower rated guys. Ratio wise, those 5 star and highly rated 4 star guys turn out to be better and more of them turn out to make the nfl. Still gotta go after those guys to compete with the other top dogs

All I heard was "money, money, and more money. I wanna make as much money as possible!". Which, ok, he's a kid. But geez, when and where does the "right football fit" come into play?

Yep. These handlers aren't doing their kids any favors by selling their college careers without considering the pros.

There's nothing in that video to indicate he would be a bad get.

nah, you can find enough people that want to play football and would enjoy the money that comes with it. You don't need kids that are there to make money and play a little football.

This is really short sighted. The vast majority of kids in college football are never going to get drafted, much less actually make an NFL roster, and even more less likely, ever see real life changing money.

Only 20% of 4 stars are even drafted in the NFL. Only 6% of 3 stars are drafted. Heck, even 5 stars only have a 50% chance of being drafted, and to reiterate, the chances of any of those guys ever seeing real life changing money in the NFL is truthfully pretty unlikely.

So with all that said, I have zero issue with a kid trying to make money when he can. Do I love that we're essentially entering a pay to play era of college football? No, I hate it. But like I said in my original post, it's the way it is now and LSU can't turn a blind eye, they have to adapt and make it work. Or they're going to get left behind.

This class never had a chance of being close thanks to O. Partially thanks to how he chased stars rather than recruiting the right guys here the last 3 years.

You guys making sweeping pronouncements for the future based on what’s happening in a transition year are just pissing in the wind and complaining because you get wet. I may be good with a shift in philosophy, but nothing we see this year will be a guarantee of anything going forward.

Character and work ethic are as important as talent. We should have learned that the past two years if we’ve learned absolutely nothing else.

Did it? Kids supposedly left or threatened to leave over money like ricks and boutte.

You are going to have to pay these elite kids, at least the ones that don't come from good families or a little money.

Any see this kid transferring after he gets paid?

The best thing that can happen to nil is for these big $$$ boosters at the other schools to get burnt by a few of these mercenaries.

As much as I hate to say it, LSU is going to need those guys. Every other big school is doing it, LSU can't just turn a blind eye. Thankfully it does seem like steps are being taken to fix that issue.

Nah, let him fleece somebody else first. He'll be in the portal within a year, if he's worth a shite, we can get him then.

I knew a 5 star that EVERYONE was drooling over. I knew the kid. Selfish, arrogant, a thief, just a bad dude. But everyone had to have him... He signed with LSU and within his first 3 months on campus, he was arrested three times and kicked off the team.. a 5 star without a strong character is not a 5 star but a cancer. We will get our 5 stars but I suspect they will be thoroughly vetted before receiving an offer.
