Yahoo sports picked the best 3 LSU baseball players of all time.1.) Ben McDonald, 2.) Todd Walker and 3.) Eddie Furness....Good choices for sure, and my heroes, but it seems that young people can remember in their time frames only....No, I think Alvin Dark was LSU's greatest...Who is Alvin Dark you say? The guy that has a street named after him at LSU? Just Google him...football, baseball, and basketball...mostly baseball...He was a three-time All-Star and a two-time World Series champion, once as a player (1954) and once as a manager (1974)...Later He managed the San Francisco Giants (1961–64), the Kansas City/Oakland Athletics (1966–67, 1974–75), the Cleveland Indians (1968–71), and the San Diego Padres (1977). BUT HE'S NOT IN LSU's TOP THREE AND WAS NOT IN LSU'S TOP 50 ATHLETES ACCORDING TO A TIMES-PICAYUNE SURVEY A FEW YEARS AGO...MORON. LATEST IS THE GREATEST PEOPLE...

Kind of hard to remember things you didn’t see.

i mean Eddy owned damn near the entire SEC record book by the time he was done.

don’t care what happened in MLB because that’s not relevant to LSU

Looks like he had a very nice professional career. What’s that got to do with LSU? If we’re using MLB success as the barometer, then Albert Bell is WAY ahead of the 3 mentioned. Looks like they are just counting their time at LSU. if you want to argue for Alvin Dark, perhaps start by providing his accomplishments at LSU.

It's called recency bias and will always be a think in sports.

Put up his stats while playing at LSU (baseball only) and I’ll consider it.

...then I guess Y.A. Title, Jim Taylor, and Steve Van Buren are forgotten and replaced by Fournette, Guice, and Tommy Hobson.....

Sadly, Alvin Dark will be remembered for the violent crime ridden street in Tigerland named after him

Hodson

and again, when you’re the recorder holder for basically every single season and career stat when you hang them up, it’s kinda tough to leave off of all-time lists.

you going to tell me Joe Burrow doesn’t belong there now because he’s too recent?

The 3 chosen had better LSU careers, really not debatable.

Latest is the greatest? It’s been almost 25 years since Furniss played at LSU
