I don't think a lot of people on this board realize that when oil futures went negative last year, it wasn't necessarily a good thing.
I do nothing but laugh at the idiots who repost Facebook memes showing $1.43/gallon gasoline signs from last Spring and trying to use it as some sort of measure as to how great Donald Trump was compared to Joe Biden.
Gasoline was $1.43/gal because hardly anyone was driving or flying and a good bit of economic commerce had been shut down.

Because Biden is shutting down current production and asking foreign entities to provide the oil.
Its really dumb and worthy of heavy criticism. Its only to placate the far left enviros, who have no clue how economics work.

Wasn’t meant to be taken literal.

I'm not disagreeing that Trump's energy policy was better for America than Biden's.
I'm merely pointing out the stupidity/ignorance of many on the conservative side who have used the $1.43/gal gasoline reference as the talking point for the argument.

I’m with Roger, why shut down Most of our production just to turnaround and have to ask for help?

I doubt OPEC will even consider a production increase until oil hits $100 again

Very likely scenario

There are some MAJOR construction projects going on in OPEC nations (2030 initiatives etc.) including Egypt pouring money into an under construction ”new” capital city,
New Cairo
and Saudi Arabia’s “linear” city (80 miles long with no cars...a environmental Nazis wet dream).
The Saudi linear city
As such, they want the price of oil to climb (a lot).

Maybe it’s because there’s a puppet in the White House?

It’s a sad, sad day when I believe this guy…
Over this Turnip, a supposedly democratically elected President.

Yep
Nope... russia and Saudi Arabia got into an oil war and flooded the world market prior to the lockdowns kicking in... oil prices went negative for a bit. Trump tried to buy up every bit of crude to stuff the strategic Petroleum reserve, but schumer wouldn't allow anything that would help oil companies. Trump made a deal with the oil companies to store oil in the spr in exchange for keeping a percentage. Dude was brilliant.
The lockdowns exacerbated the issue, but the genesis was Russia and Saudi Arabia flinging open the spigots

Well, it has pretty much been the story for a while now. You can't continually make decisions to undermine our own production and then not expect to be laughed at when you beg other countries to prop up your supply. That part isn't debatable, and it sure isn't some Russian propaganda play.
Imagine calling all of your neighbors together in the street and then setting your own house on fire. Then imagine asking your neighbors to do a favor for you, and allow you to live with them.

It’s worse. His brain is jelly, closer to diarrhea than something you could think with. We are fricked.

People have amazingly short memories when they want to see things a certain way. These same people are now continuing year 2 of vaccine and mask advice to anyone that’ll listen.

Provide specific details of what policies or executive orders have been put in place to stop drilling. I'm not talking about halting new pipelines because that supply was never priced in. I want exact details.
