I agree that expanding the playoffs make these games more significant. Eliminate all the others in my opinion.
we don't need to eliminate ALL other bowl games beyond the playoff bowls.

A total of 15 bowls (including the playoffs) sounds about right. 30 teams out of 130 playing in bowls is a reward for the top tier of college teams and would produce compelling matchups.

What is the point of playing if but for the fans? I don’t get you.

A big showing in a bowl game goes a long way on draft day.

Absolutely- JaMarcus Russel was not a #1 draft pick until his Sugar Bowl annihilation of Notre Dame...

That one showcase game probably put several extra millions in his pocket

The answer to every question is Yes...just like the Spring game, outside of the win or loss going on our permanent record

I should have been more clear...it is definitely meaningless for those with plans to play in the NFL next season.

I knew what you meant, and we’re likely on the same page. Like I said, I don’t begrudge Ferrell, Clark, TDP, or even Logan. I actually think it’s much more of a gamble for the guys like this who are borderline (except for Damone, who is getting drafted no matter what). The other guys have been at LSU 4,5, 6 years. They are old (TDP is for his position) and borderline. An injury to any of these guys is much more catastrophic than it would be for a guaranteed top 1st/2nd round pick.

And the prestigiousness of the bowl game obviously contributes to how meaningful it is. But it is never meaningLESS. EVER. Finishing 7-6 is significantly better than going 6-7. Way more than just 1 game. If Kiner and/or Bradford go for 100+, I just don’t think it’s right right to dismiss performances because the game was “meaningless.” Ya know?

I disagree, I think you will always be able to field a team when bowl swag, travel and such is involved. Many of these student/athletes don’t have a bunch going on outside of football!

He isn't a sr so he shouldn't be sitting out.

No but he is a junior and draft eligible. Not sure he would be leaning that way but he can if he wants to

works for me. It's a meaningless game. Basically a scrimmage for the second and third stringers.

Chicken can the GF and I crash with you in Houston for the game? I'll stock your fridge with natty light and boones farm.

At this point, I don't expect anyone to play. I just hope no one expects us to watch/attend/support either. Two way street.

Other than Clark who has 1st rd potential? Tdp is a 6-7th rd pick possibly ufa, Farrell and Logan same way only one getting paid is Clark and he will probably go 2nd rd regardless
