I really don't understand why they chose Prytania and not Magazine.

Because of the need to line the floats up behind the first parade of the night/day.

You thought they would?

They have Tchoup on both sides to line everyone up. I can only imagine what the city's initial plan was before the Krewe's pushed back.

Sounds like Endymion will not hit St. Charles at least from Poydras to Lee Circle and possibly not St. Charles at all with stands going up on Loyola.

I agree. They cut Gallier Hall out of the Route and are staging stands on Loyola.

My guess is Endymion will go Down Canal to Loyola and then straight to the Dome. That’s the end of the Route

Seems like that move would have made the most sense. They already start from there for some parades.

Can't think the 4 extra blocks pushes things over the edge.

I just heard the initial plan was to start at Napoleon and St. Charles and this was the compromise.

What triggered these changes? Covid? No cops?

Don’t they get cops from all over?

Thoth just issued a statement via the notes app. Basically said the city ignored them and the joy they bring to children's hospital etc. and other Krewes got special treatment.

How does a member of Thoth get on this list?

I’m not seeing anything on the members portal

Thoth should just walk it Sunday morning before they ride. Walk the magazine part of the route to where they load up on the floats. Decent walk but I’d go out there to see it.

I think Endymion has paid to have JOSO on parts of the mid city route in the past.

Thoth got absolutely fricked more than any other Krewe by these changes and they weren’t mentioned or thought of by Latoya or anyone in charge. Should send a hell of a statement to their membership about how the city feels about them. Sucks for all of their members.

Thoth absolutely did - this meeting tonight hopefully will shed some more light on what was said between Krewe leadership and the city officials.

I just hope we are able to figure something out for Children's Hospital. I'd bet we take the busses there in the morning and do a small walking parade.

That's kind of a whiny thing for the Thoth people to say... but given who I know in that parade... I'm not surprised. They are a bunch of whiners.

It sucks for them for sure. And it sucks for the area. But that had to be an easy decision to cut. Not THAT many people watch the parade out there.

Maybe Thoth can have some kind of January-ish celebration day out there, bring a few floats out there, have a band, etc. Kind of like what they do at the den the week or two before they ride.

4 blocks for most parades doesn't make much difference either way, but when faced with erring on side of what people want (Magazine) vs. what Cantrell wants, the people are never going to win. It's so "on brand" for how the city make decisions these days. I'll never understand why a real challenger to Cantrell never emerged in the election cycle. She's been completely unchecked. At least some new council people she did not endorse were elected and likely to push back.
