And how soon after the pic is taken does it send the pic to you?

Our last game cameras (non-cellular) were stolen so hoping a cellular camera offers some degree of theft proof.

People either love or hate, but I’m running a spypoint micro LTE-solar for the second season in Texas. No issues, get photos in seconds.

ETA: haven’t touched the batteries in a year, best feature by far

Cuddeback gets my vote, you daisy chain multiple together and they all ride on one cell connection for the single $10 plan.

I doubt it deters thieves, though.

It takes about a minute or two to receive the picture depending on service in the area.

Spypoint is cheap , i had a lot of hassle with them in the past but this year they seem to be working fine. When they don’t work it’s just a matter of doing updates to the camera.

Tactacam is another cheap but good option as well. It’s probably the fan favorite.

Cuddelink, covert, RidgeTec all good options

If you don’t care about money, and really want to catch the thieves. Spartan has a built in GPS to track your camera down. I want to say covert does too but I’m not positive on that.

When time for my next buy, I'll seriously look into this. How many pics/month for $10?

Spypoint micro. Have 5 going on 3 seasons. Use lithium AAs and keep the firmware updated. Call spypoint and tell them to update the firmware when there is an update. Takes less than 5 mins on the phone. Within 24 hours they are updated. No issues.

I also bought a tactacam reveal x this year to see if the hype was worth it. Very good camera as well. But not worth the 99 v 120 a camera to make the switch.

What percentage of pictures taken to pictures sent are you guys getting? One of Tactacam biggest downfalls especially the newer model, it is not bear as robust as the first. For example, I put one out on the first, it has taken. 633 pictures, only sent 15.

I've only pulled the card on the tactacam once and I received over 400 pictures and there was the same on the card.

That depends on how you set it up. I'm running a Spypoint Link-Micro LTE w/ Verizon network. I can set it up to transmit pics from each detection to once per day. When I first got it, I set it on "each detection" to try it out and it the alkaline batteries needed to be replaced after only one week. When set for "each detection" the transmission is really fast. When I first bought mine, I set it up on our playground across the street, about 40 yards away. My truck was at the playground, as well. I loaded my truck w/ a few items, walked back to the house to get a few more items and had a pic before getting to the house. Of course, if the thief sees your camera from a distance, outside the range of the camera, he can still cover his face and still the camera.

This is my first year using a cellular game camera. It's really neat when I have a good signal, but all our stands are rather remote and have no signal to poor signal. For next year I need to look at getting a cell signal booster and either a solar charger or 9 volt battery adaptor.

We are actually a new dealer for a few cellular trail cameras as well as other hunting related items. I’m at Hill’s Equipment in Livingston and we actually have sales going on through Christmas on our hunting items.

To answer you’re question, I’ve always ran coverts (we carry these), but to be honest I started using WiseEye this year. They’re headquarters are in Pride Louisiana. I wanted to try them before recommending them to people. I have 4 now. I prefer them over my covert cameras now. The main thing is you absolutely WILL NOT beat their customer service. Any issue and they help out immediately. There is a tech page on Facebook and any questions or issues posted a representative will get right with you. I have 3 of their big double antenna cameras and have gotten service with them in spots I normally have trouble. I have one mini which is a single antenna and only takes 8 batteries. I just put it out and am loving the picture quality. The test on it will be how long the batteries last. Go watch a YouTube video on a review a man with a little archery shop did. They also have facial recognition for deer (I never use), charts youre activity of when you’re most pictures are taken. It charts the weather and all that gives you the opportunity to see when you’re best times to hunt will be.

If you have any questions and are a local Louisiana guy feel free to stop in and ask or message us at Hills Equipment on fb. I’d be happy to answer any questions you or anyone has.
