With all the high profile openings this cycle, and Freeze’s name getting nary a mention, are we to assume he has some serious baggage?

Maybe, but Liberty had a pretty disappointing year too.

You mean other than using a university phone to arrange for hookers.

I mean…. He was hiring women to have sex with recruits….. your guess is as good as mine

Nope, ZERO baggage...Good, Christian man at a good, Christian university.
A literal match made in Heaven.

I mean in the grand scheme of things him arranging for recruits to have sex with girls isn't that bad. It's just streamlined instead of going to a dance in high-school and test out your game on a girl.

Freeze as OC would be a home run hire but I don’t see him leaving Liberty. He’s got it made there.

Well yeah, his baggage makes him pretty much untouchable at the P5 level. Too bad too, because he's the only coach who ever consistently beat $aban. Did it to himself though. Can't be all sanctimonious and making shady deals with the devil.
Seems he's doing good for himself now though. Making pretty damn good coin for such a small school. Hopefully he actually atones for his wrongdoings and rights his wrongs in the eyes of The Father.
The "As The Grove Burns" thread was one of the all-time best threads on all of TD though. Fun times upon which to look back. I stay off of tSECR as a personal choice, but that was too deliciously fun to avoid.

So you're okay with buying hookers for children? Is that what you're saying? That you're okay with buying adult sex workers to sleep with 13-17 aged minors to get them to committ to your football team?
Because that's pretty fricked up and illegal

So based on your username, you readily admit that bug eyed cocksucker actively officiated and made calls to the benefit of Alabama.

Pretty sure Liberty gave him a really good contract extension and bumped his pay significantly right after the season. He has no reason to take an OC job. He will leave LU when a big enough school offers him a raise to be HC.

17-18 year old boys are sent to their death by their governments all the time. I think having consensual sex with recruiting hoes or prostitutes isn’t that big of a concern in the large scheme of things.

I know Hugh personally and can give some insight here. There are a total of 4 schools he will consider leaving Liberty for. 3 of which are in the SEC. 1 is in the ACC. None of these have been a serious option for him. There have been several other P5 schools that have made contact with intent to hire, but he wasn't interested.
He is genuinely happy where he is, and now he's making about what he was making when he left OM with a fraction of the pressure.
I believe his competitive nature will ultimately see him back in the P5. But it's going to have to be a very specific fit.
