He took the last train to Clarksville?

Guess he asked himself, “What am I doin’ hangin’ ‘round?”

For a second I thought this said Joe Namath.

Last week, I put liquid paper on a bee… and it died.

I hope his last words were "I'm a believer".

Says he died of "natural causes". I guess that technically doesn't rule out anything.

Only one monkee left. Mickey.

It rules out homicide, suicide, and accident.

Being born in 1960, and forgetting the exact year the show began, I was 6 - 7 when The Monkees first aired. I liked the show, and was at that itme unaware of any controversies about not playing their own instruments, not writing their own songs, etc.
I continued to watch both the original shows and reruns into my teens, and then watched it again when the reruns played in the early days of MTV.
They're not The Beatles or Stones by any stretch, but they have their place in Rock/Pop history, and they were a damn sight better than other groups or individuals that were foisted on the public in the late 60's.

I just got me a ticket to the monkey concert. Hope it’s better than the bee gee concert.

That dumbass will probably outlive me and will be shilling Medicare supplements to Gen Z.

Maybe they should join forces, both groups down to the last member

Nesmith was the only actual musician of the four, he was a decent guitarist, but even given that all the guitar licks on the records were created and recorded by a studio session guy whose name escapes me.

"Peter Tork was accomplished on guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, banjo and other instruments".
Link to Tork's Obit.
The session guys you may be thinking of were Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart?

Within a few years they were playing their own instruments. The Monkees actually worked with a great many respected artists.
Sorry to hear the news. The wackiest Monkee has outlived them all. Here's to a few more, Mickey!
