Gaetz Joins Chorus Pushing for Trump to Be Speaker If GOP Flips the House in 2022

Last month, former Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows also suggested that Trump should be Speaker were the GOP to take back the House. Meadows explained (which is true, although unprecedented) that to be elected Speaker of the House a person does not need to be a sitting member of Congress.
Earlier this year, an outgoing spokesperson for Trump said the former president has “zero desire” to be Speaker, while Trump himself has called the idea “very interesting.”

Never going to happen. Pure fantasy. The Republicans are on the verge of taking both Houses back in 2022, with an all but lame duck Executive Branch. Trump's time is over, it's time to move on to DeSantis or Noem.

There are so many reasons I support this:
1-the MAGA Agenda is absolutely my favorite thing about Trump. I agree with all of it- and him being able to get legislation passed would be actually BETTER than a second term, bc it could be true reform of our laws and we could really do some good.
2- The fricking meltdown would be glorious, better than 2016 and the tears would sustain me. Moreover, it would be the most demoralizing and decisive victory over the Progs, Uniparty and Deep State ever- which would make it all the more sweet:
3- the SOH is a national office. It doesn’t make sense to concentrate that power in any one legislative district. I think flipping the script and starting a tradition where the SOH is selected by the entire HR - would give the ppl a say so into who is the SOH - instead of an existing “senior” representative who just got there bc she’s been there the longest. I think It would be a triumph of republic style gvt that could have a long lasting and positive impact

Be careful what you wish for. The level of the core reactor meltdown would be delightfully epic but realize that such a precedent is opening the door for an Oprah Winfrey or a Michelle Obama to follow the same path.
