It’s like the chick who left you that you couldn’t quit thinking about, isn’t as attractive as soon as she becomes available again.

I think people are questioning his ability to actually call plays. He brought a concept and helped install it and did a awesome job with the receivers, but did he actually call plays? The product he produced in Carolina wasn’t that great. He wasn’t exactly dealt the best hand there, but the play calling didn’t make a lot of sense at times and now we see the result of that. Everyone expected him to kill it there and he didn’t. It makes people think he helped design the offense but wouldn’t have been able to call it that effectively in game situations.

The only positive thing on his resume was 12 months in BR with 22 draft picks on the team that year including all the offensive skill positions most of who were 1st round picks. Other than that, he was either getting coffee for Sean Payton or getting fired by the Panthers. I for one believe Sean hasn't gotten a good cup of coffee since, he should hire Joe back.

Brady helped install an amazing offense. But Ensminger was the one who could call plays, set up different looks, and push the right buttons.

He admitted as much when he won the Broyles and said Ensminger should have won. Carolina is bottoms 8 in yards and points per game.

ETA:

Look no further than Ensminger calling plays in 2020, averaging 35 points a game over the season with three different QBs, two of which were true freshman.

It’s the CCB way. He was fired, so he was never good anyway. We went through the same thing when coaching candidates lost games during the season.

My sources tell me BK doesn’t rely on advice from posters on a message board for his coaching hires. LSU is in good hands.

Didn't Brady call 3rd down plays in 2019? I think he got more than he could handle in Carolina, and with thwir talent is was always going to be hard to make the offense great. Kelly seems to want to be very involved in offensive gameplanning, could be a good learning opportunity for Brady to be full time play caller while having an experienced coach to lean on.

The Panthers have struggled offensively, with Brady’s offense not staying ahead of opposing defenses and/or its own tendencies and tells.

We have some dumb frick fans. They want to credit slinger bc he stayed, they refuse to see 16, 18 and 20 as normal and somehow think 19 happens without Brady.

First off it’s really Sean Paytons offense. Brady was an assistant to an assistant there and was asked to put together some RPO packages using Taysom Hill. A large part the success at LSU was a guy named Joe Burrow and an all star cast of receivers who are tearing it up in the NFL. Brady went to the NFL as an OC……not so much. Are you seriously saying Ensminger had no part.

Hire as the PCG, sure. Hire him as the OC, I'm not convinced. Never was. And he has made no secret of the fact that his desire is to work in the NFL.

His failures in the NFL make him less appealing but some, maybe much, of that can be ascribed to the personnel. The same can be said of his success at LSU with the added consideration of a seasoned OC functioning as an impulse control mechanism.

Just my take. If we hire him in any capacity, I hope he succeeds beyond our wildest dreams. If we do not, I will lose no sleep over it.

My 7 yr old could've called players with Burrow, Chase, Jefferson, Moss, CEH, etc.

Dude got way too much love and cashed in.

He was in the right place at the right time.

Pass.

It is pretty funny. LSU has been chasing the ghost of Joe Brady for two years and now he's available and fans can't even with him right now. If Coach O was still in charge Joe Brady would've already been hired to the most lucrative contract an OC has ever seen. He would be named assistant head coach and HC in waiting. The field at Tiger Stadium would be named after him.

The reality is that we now have two years of hindsight. Turns out 2019 might've been less about Joe Brady and more about having one of the greatest collections of talent ever assembled.

Man the irony of if Brady comes here and has success again. O gets fired after talking about the “joe Brady offense” for 2 years and then he comes back. Also if we still had O how much would he be bother Brady right now lol.
