Kelly is using Coach O to assist in recruiting obviously, I know I would.

Say what you want, but that’s a hell of a message when the fired coach is still recruiting you for the school he was fired from.

Apparently Kelly was at a minimum of Nevell securing our future with Will Campbell.

He's been doing this for something like 31 years. Maybe we should just trust the process?

I seriously would have asked O to recruit for his 4 mil a year.
And he would have said yes, dude loves LSU and recruiting, it’s all he knows. And by the way he’s dam good at it and has lots of relationships that he built over the years.

Say what you want about Orgeron but the guy loves football and has tons of relationships with high school coaches in Louisiana. You’re going to see him continue to support friends and because of that he will continue to cross paths with recruits and families he has built relationships with over the past few years.

He’s not working for LSU in any official or unofficial capacity, but just out of coincidence he’s going to benefit LSU on the recruiting trail.

One of the best takes on O I’ve heard on this board in a while. I never wished ill will with O. It just didn’t work out and he knew it and yet even in the year he gets let go instead of cashing in and checking out, he’s going to HS games and recruits for lsu. If that doesn’t tell you what kind of person he is, idk what does.

I have a feeling that him not taking a job at all next year and possibly not in the SEC if he does work again was part of him getting his full buyout from LSU. Even if it was all just handshakes, this sounds to me like him holding up part of such a bargain.

If this is the route Woodward took, it’s smart. That was a lot of money and it makes for excellent leverage to keep O from working against LSU any time soon, and hopefully ever.

He still works for LSU. Read the separation agreement. He has like 4 years unless someone hires him or he screws it up.

He's still getting paid to push to LSU

Would you please paste the language from the separation agreement here so we can read it?

Getting paid to “push” LSU is not the same as actually pushing LSU. He could pack it in and no one would care.

He's definitely worth it, just don't know if his ego would allow him to take a lower position at the school where he won a NC.

After a year off i actually think o could.

Deep down i believe he knows he is a d line coach who got lucky and grabbed the lsu job.

I wouldn't let it happen die to the fact he already went behind miles back to get the job.

You think the guy replacing O is asking O to recruit for him when they have no relationship at all?
You think if he was asked by BK or LSU he wouldn't tell them to shove it? Yall didn't want me here but now you want me to go recruit for you?

I don't see that happening.

“We’re paying you 17 million and to avoid a dirty divorce we only ask that you continue to recruit for LSU unless someone else hires you to an on field role. Deal?”
