If they have good ties got the coaches here in Texas then I am good. Living here and knowing lots of high school coaches( I’m just a little middle school coach, but I hit the Texas coaches conference every year and know my feeder coaches and friends), these guys are similar to New Orleans coaches. They like a Texas guy. We think we are special.

That’s a beautiful staff

I’d rather have gabe ferttita over Johnson as a RB coach & to recruit BR though. Hankton as recruiting coordinator

Probably right. I was thinking about Elko earlier. I think he makes 2.1. A&M would definitely match 2.5 and probably up to 3. I’m not predicting this or hoping for it, I was just pondering on if we’d go up to 3.5 or even 4 if that’s what it took for him to leave after just 1 year in College Station. Just wondering where Woody’s “red line” would be if Kelly identified somebody as “his guy.”

Here's Golding's numbers...

quote:

Defensive coordinator Pete Golding saw a bump in pay from $1.225 million to $1.5 million, and that salary will increase over the course of his contract (through 2024) to $1.7 million in its final year. Last season, the Crimson Tide’s defense ranked first in the SEC in scoring defense (19.4 points per game) and third in rushing defense, passing defense and total defense.

LINK

You'd be coming with a 50-70 percent raise and bringing him home. My guess is he's gettable.

And he might even jump before the playoffs. Saban might move Charles Kelly up to DC if Golding is leaving.

Les, you seem to be pretty knowledgeable on the strength and conditioning community. What you think about ND’s guy that we’re probably getting? He was referred to on here as an assistant to the head guy or at least 2nd in command there, but his title didn’t seem to reflect that. Regardless, he on the cutting edge and ready to run his own program?

Kelly let Rees run the offense.

He sure does. He lets him run BK's offense.

saban can bump him up if he wants. if he comes it's because saban wanted him to leave.

Can someone clue me in on Hankton? I haven’t seen a lot from UGA WRs, not that he’s has much to deal with before Pickens. But is he that good?

He resume & credentials fit. I don’t think there is much separation when it comes to actual programs. Most look similar.

The differentiators are more personal; motivation, trust, elevate.

These players spend more time with the strength staff than any other coach. Flint seems well liked, so I’d say he checks out

I have this...

quote:

At UGA, Hankton has coached SEC All-Freshman wide receiver George Pickens, the MVP of the 2020 Allstate Sugar Bowl victory over Baylor. Additionally, he coached several big-play receivers in 2018 in senior Terry Godwin and juniors Mecole Hardman and Riley Ridley who combined for 1,475 receiving yards. All three were drafted in the 2019 NFL draft: Hardman, 2nd round, Kansas City; Ridley, 4th round, Chicago; and Godwin, 7th round, Carolina.

LSU isn't keeping 4 guys off of Ed Orgeron's staff. We also arent hiring the worst DC Bama has had in Saban's career.

The one who keeps getting raises and contract extensions?

I agree, we likely aren’t getting him. Would be a great hire, despite what our dumb fans think.
